MEMORIZE MATTHEW 18:20

Fellowship
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three come together in My name, there I am with them.

The way that believers love one another and live together is compared to the human body in
the Bible. Everyone is given different but important gifts and roles, just like the parts of our
body have as well. If the parts of the body start feeling prideful about what talents they have,
imagine the condition of the body as a whole. It would become hard for it to function
properly. That is why many times as believers we are divided by differences amongst us and
do not accomplish much as a body. This is because we have forgotten the common point…
yes that is “Jesus Christ.” We try to do everything on our own and in our own way. Jesus
Christ is the head of the body of Christ and unites us to form the powerful, authoritative, and
strong kingdom of God. Together we can learn to know Christ and allow His presence to
unite us in sweet fellowship with one another.

Prayerfully go through the lesson. Meditate on the verses and thoughts that God put in your
heart. Think about your relationships with other believers. If your relationship with them is
strained, then spend some time in prayer about it. Ask them for forgiveness and re-establish
your relationship with them. Ask the Lord where it is that you need to make a change in
regards to your fellowship with other believers. For example, if there are things that you were
trying to accomplish own your own as a believer give them to God and allow Him to teach
you to join hands with other believers. You will see the results of fellowship as you allow God
to be in the mist of other believers and you.
