Week 3
Lesson 2
One way to find good, quality resources is to go to websites that are easy to use. Below
are several. You’ll want to search by topic, theme, grade level, etc. How you search
depends on the website.
General
You’ll want to search by topic, theme, grade level, etc. How you search depends on the
website
• ThinkQuest
http://www.thinkquest.org/library/
These are websites created by students on a variety of subjects. They are well
done and may offer resources to support your curriculum or to stand on their own.
• TrackStar
http://trackstar.4teachers.org/trackstar/;jsessionid=4367D24610757D9BE4C63EF
C26DEC9B1
Teachers have put together Internet resources organized by curricular area,
themes, standards and subjects.
• TeAchnology
http://www.teach-nology.com/
Lesson plans, worksheets, reviewed websites and more are offered here. This
website is worth exploring.
• WebQuest
http://webquest.org/
This is the home for WebQuests. You’ll need to click the Find WebQuests link
on the far left-hand side of the screen (HINT: It’s in a black box with white
lettering) to get to the search database.
From there you may search for a WebQuest in one of two ways:
Æ Free Text Search – type in one word (reading rather than guided reading)
and use the “Title of Description” option. Typing in more than two words
may result in no hits.
Æ Curriculum X Grade Level Matrix – choose the subject and grade level
to search for a WQ.
