RND 2: Working in back lp of sts only (front lps rem unworked), loosely sl st in same sc as joining and each rem st around, join to first sl st. Finish off, weave in ends. Set aside. Shoulder Band Flower Starting at center with medium yellow and size G crochet hook, ch 2. RND 1 (right side): Work 6 sc under top 2 strands of 2nd ch from hook, join to beg sc (6 sc). Cut yellow, join deep pink. Continuing with deep pink, ch 1. RND 2: (Sc, hdc) in same sc as joining, * (hdc, sc, ch 1, sl st ) in next sc (petal made), (sl st, ch 1, sc, hdc) in next sc **; rep from * to ** once more; rep from * to once, join to first sc (3 small petals), Cut deep pink, join black. Working around opposite side of starting ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch, join to first sc (11 sts). Cut green, join black. Continuing with black, ch 1. RND 2: Working in back lp of sts only, loosely sl st in same sc as joining and each rem st around, join to first sl st. Finish off, weave in ends. Dress Finishing

STEP 1: Sew shoulder band flower to shoulder band leaf as shown in Figure 1. Sew flower with leaf to front of shoulder band to the right of center with leaf facing to right shoulder. STEP 2: Sew 2 black hooks and eyes sets to back shoulder band opening: 1 set at top of band and 1 set at bottom. Sew 3 silver hooks and eyes sets to back bodice opening: 1 set at top of offwhite bodice, 1 set at waist and 1 set centered between. STEP 3: With bottom of skirt facing you, hold black yarn on wrong side and size G crochet hook on right side. Leaving a 3-in. starting length (for weaving in), pull up a lp in groove between last 2 skirt rnds (Rnds 30 and 29) at any point where 2 dc were worked in 1 st (to be called increase st). Pulling all lps up to height of dc st, loosely sl st in a straight vertical line following increase sts up to waist. Cut black leaving a 3-in end (for weaving in). Pull end through to right side and back to wrong side over last lp. Rep procedure 14 times more at each point of increase st. STEP 4: Lay dress on a flat surface with skirt fanned out to a big

circle. Setting 1 deep pink flower and 1 leaf aside (for hair), lay rem 33 flowers and 22 leaves around bottom of skirt as shown in Figure 2, keeping color sequence the same throughout (rotating flowers petals randomly, overlapping flowers just enough so all flowers and leaves fit and allowing bottom 1/4 of flowers and bottom leaf to hang below skirt bottom edge). Pin all flowers and leaves in place. Using tapestry needle and black yarn, sew black sl st rnd of flowers and leaves to skirt (removing pins as you work around). Set dress aside. Pillow Base Pillow Top Starting at waist edge, with off-white and size G hook (or size requires for gauge), ch 30, join with a sl st in beg ch to form a ring (being careful not to twist ch ). RND 1 (right side): Ch 1, sc in same ch as joining and each rem ch around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 (30 sc). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 2: * Hdc in each of next 2 sc, 2 hdc in next sc; rep from * around, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-2 (40 hdc-not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 3: * Hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (50 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 4: * Hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (60 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn. Pillow Ruffle With right side and waist edge of Pillow Top facing you, rejoin offwhite with a sl st in first lp left unworked in Rnd 16, ch 4. RND 1: Work 2 trc in same lp as joining and each rem unworked lp around, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-4 (340 trc not counting ch-4). Ch 4, do not turn. RNDS 2-3: Trc in each trc around, join (340 trc). Ch 4, do not turn. At end of Rnd 3, ch 1 (in place of ch 4), do not turn. RND 4: Sc in next trc, * ch 4, sk next trc, sc in next trc; rep from * around to last trc, ch 4, sk last trc, join to beg sc. Finish off, weave in ends. Pillow Bottom Starting at center with off-white, ch 3. RND 1 (right side): Work 10 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-2 (10 hdc- not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 2: Work 2 hdc in each hdc around, join (20 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 3: * Hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around,

join (30 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn. RND 4: * Hdc in each of next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (40 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn. RNDS 5-17: Rep Rnds 3-15 of Pillow Top. At end of Rnd 15 of Pillow Top, do not ch 2. Finish off, leaving 3 yards sewing length. Pillow Assembly STEP 1: Thread a 22-in. strand of off-white into needle. Starting at center back (where rnds were joined), weave yarn in and out of chs around waist edge of pillow top. Position pillow top onto pillow doll. Pull yarn ends up tightly at back waist of doll and knot securely. Weave in ends. STEP 2: Turn doll upside down. Hot glue first rnd of sc on pillow top to dolls waist, slightly below navel (NOTE: This step is necessary to keep pillow top from riding up after pillow is stuffed). STEP 3: Position pillow bottom in place, having right side of sts on outside of pillow. Carefully match sts around outer edge of pillow bottom with sts of Rnd 16 of pillow top (under ruffle). Thread the 3 yard sewing length from end of pillow bottom into needle and sew pieces tog through both lps of matching sts 3/4 of the way around. STEP 4: Firmly stuff front half of pillow. STEP 5: Thread 2 yards of off-white into needle. Using 2 strands, leave 8-in. ends loose at bottom of pillow, draw needle and yarn through 4-hole button and through first rnd at center of pillow bottom, thread through lp at bottom of dolls body and back down through first rnd of pillow bottom and 4-hole button. Leave ends loose at bottom of pillow. STEP 6: Finish stuffing pillow and close rem seam. STEP 7: Pull yarn ends at bottom of pillow with a medium tension and tie once at top of button. With needle, draw yarn ends through 2 rem holes of button and knot securely underneath button. Trim ends close to button. Work with pillow and fiberfill stuffing to form rounded shape. Finishing

STEP 1: Place dress on doll and close back hooks. STEP 2: Place a 31-in. piece of 1/8-in. black satin ribbon around dolls waist. Tie into a 3-in. bow in back. Let ribbon ends hang down skirt back. Trim ends on an angle. STEP 3: Place a 5-in. piece of 1/8-in. black satin ribbon around dolls neck. Place one end over the other and glue tog. Place joining seam at back of neck. Headband STEP 1: Sew rem flower to rem leaf as shown in Figure 1. Set aside. STEP 2: With black and size G hook, leaving a 2-1/2-in. starting length (for tying) ch 50. Finish off leaving a 2-1/2-in. end (for tying). STEP 3: Sew wrong side center of flower about 1/3 of the distance from left ch end so that leaf will be facing to the back of dolls head. STEP 4: Place headband around dolls head with flower on the left side and leaf facing to the back.
