MEET OUR COMPREHENSIVE SPEAKER PANEL Bernhard Beran, Raiffeisen Bank International AG, Austria Head of Collateral and Agreement Management Bernhard Beran is Head of Collateral & Agreement Management at Raiffeisen Bank International, Vienna. In his current position, he is responsible for developing the credit risk mitigation strategy for OTC derivatives business of RBI Group. Bernhard joined Raiffeisen Zentralbank, which merged with Raiffeisen International in 2010 to form Raiffeisen Bank International, in 2004. From 2000 to 2004, he headed the application management department of the web-trading subsidiary of Raiffeisen Zentralbank. Before that, he worked in the field of training and education for several Austrian banks and IBM. Bernhard holds a university degree of the Vienna University of Economics and Business and finished a college for information technology. Juergen Pohl, Bayerische Landesbank, Germany Senior VP Collateral Management After school Juergen did a professional training in a savings bank. Afterwards he studied mathematics at the University for Applied Sciences in Regensburg. In 1996 he joined Bayerische Landesbank as a programmer in their IT-department. Also in 1996 Juergen moved to the treasury department and worked in ALM, was team leader of risk management and founded the collateral management team in 1999. As head of the team he was responsible for margining (OTCderivatives, repo and securities lending), the covered bond pool management, the management of the ECB-collateral and some other portfolios pledged for different reasons. In 2009 the team was included in the liquidity management department. The responsibility as of a Senior VP is now for the whole Bayerische Landesbank group. Ali Ziya Akca, Garanti Bank, Turkey Risk Control Vice President, Derivatives Department - Treasury Ali Ziya Aka is an economist who has been working at Garanti Bank Risk Control and Compliance Department since 2006. After working at Middle Office for a period, he has been responsible for the Collateral Management Team since 2009. He has 7 years of banking and audit experience on banking treasury products and systems. Ali holds a Masters Degree in Financial Economics and he graduated from London School of Economics (LSE) Economics external program in 2003. Fouad Estephan, Euroclear, Belgium Manager responsible for Euroclear Banks triparty collateral management services within the Product Management division Mr. Estephan began his career at Euroclear in 2003 as an Operational Risk Manager where he was responsible for the implementation of operational incident reporting and the control self-assessment methodology employed at group level. In 2005, he transferred to the Banking division as Product Manager where he analysed and improved liquidity management and money transfer infrastructures and processes. Mr. Estephan joined the triparty collateral management team within the Product Management division in 2007. Mr. Estephan holds an MBA from the Solvay Business School (1992) and a Bachelors degree from Universit Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). Helen Nicol, Lombard Risk, COLLINE Product Director Helen Nicol joined Lombard Risk in 2006 after several years at Credit Suisse, working in the Listed Derivatives and Collateral Departments. Helen has global product positioning and full P&L responsibility for COLLINE, Lombard Risks fast growing collateral management software product. Helen has an Honours Degree in Law, is qualified as a solicitor from the College of Law in Guildford and a member of the London Law Society. Helen also serves as a committee member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association.
Niels Martin Tholstrup Fjeldgaard, Danske Bank Head of Collateral Management Niels Martin Tholstrup Fjeldgaard has been with Danske Bank Group, the second largest Financial Institution in Scandinavia, since the year 2000. First he held various positions in Danske Markets Business Support and since 2003 in Collateral Management. Since 2006 he has been Head of Collateral Management. He holds a Master of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School. Ted Allen, SunGard, UK VP Capital Markets Collateral Management Ted has been at the forefront of collateral management activity and thinking for over 15 years. He was a Collateral Manager with JP Morgan running their London OT Derivatives Collateral team in the mid-nineties, a Collateral Project Manager with First National Bank of Chicago and Collateral Product Manager with SunGard for seven years. IN 2006, Ted joined CubeMatch, a specialist credit risk focused consultancy house, as Principal Consultant where he established and led its Collateral Practice. He advised clients on margin strategy, system selection and implementation and most recently managed the margin systems for Nomura where he led the selection, development and implementation of a cross-business margin platform covering prime brokerage, equity finance, listed derivatives, cross netting and repo. He also led the efforts in implementing and building out a vendor platform to support the OTC derivatives collateral management as the bank transformed itself into a top tier institution following the acquisition of Lehman Brothers. Ted rejoined SunGard in July 2010 as Vice President and Product Manager for Collateral in Capital Markets. David Suetens, ING Investment Management, The Netherlands Chief Risk Officer In September 2008 David was appointed Chief Risk Officer for ING Investment Management Europe and became Global CRO for ING Investment Management in December 2009. He is a member of the Board of ING Investment Management. ING Investment Management is the asset manager of ING with approx 378 Billion EUR assets under management. Worldwide, over 3.600 professionals watch over clients money and ING Investment Management has presence in Europe, Americas and Asia-Pacific. Previously David was active as the Global Head of Compliance, Legal and Risk Management for ABN AMRO Asset Management and member of the Management Team. He continued in this role with Fortis Investments after the separation from ABN AMRO Group till June 2008. David is also a member of different SICAV Boards in Luxembourg. He worked for ABN AMRO since1998, where he held various senior global positions within ABN AMRO Bank in London and Amsterdam. Before joining ABN AMRO he was a product-manager with EUROCLEAR for two years. He started his career with Bank Brussels Lambert, Brussels. David holds a degree in Investment Advice from St Aloysius University (Brussels) and is a Faculty of Law Juris Doctor from the Catholic University Leuven. He holds a Masters degree in International Banking Law and Finance from Boston University School of Law. Blent zturk, ING Investment Management, The Netherlands Senior Risk Manager Blent joined INGIM Risk Management on 1st April 2009 as Risk Analyst, transferring from Fortis Investment Management where he was heading the Credit Risk department. Blent started his banking career at Abn Amro in 1999 in Finance and moved to the risk area in 2001. Within risk Blent worked as credit risk controller and later as credit officer, managing the trading credit risk for corporates, financial institutions and public sector for Western Europe till June 2007. In June 2007 Blent transferred to Abn Amro Asset Management which was integrated into Fortis Investment per April 2008. Blent studied accountancy and business economics at the Faculty of Economics and Econometrics of University of Amsterdam
