SkyView Microwave provides system designers with the ability to complete complex path budget calculations f Mi l l ti for Microwave and B db d d Broadband Networks, then view and modify the results in 3D with a direct Google Earth interface. SkyView Microwave uses IEEE algorithms and produces industry standard accurate link budgets automatically while giving the d i t ti ll hil i i th designer th ability to the bilit t view and analyze 3D site models, line of sight and Fresnel zone clearance relative to surrounding terrain. terrain The software lends the ability to make immediate critical design changes and instantaneously view the resulting path budget, reliability calculations, Crane rain fade calculations and path profiles and print summaries on demand.

SkyView Microwave Software Basic Features and Functionality

With SkyView Microwave, the user can design radio paths from new proposed sites or existing site data which can easily be imported from several formats. The software allows the designer to filter the paths based on design criteria and quickly make system design d i i k t d i decisions ensuring th i the best paths are built keeping CAPEX to a minimum. Because theyre self contained, the Google Earth KMZ files created in SkyView Microwave can be emailed or shared via the web with executives, engineers, site acquisition, construction and operations personnel who can easily retrieve and display ll it di l all site and path engineering d t d th i i data within the project.

Path Profiles
Profiles use USGS terrain files which can be located on any server or local directory. Path profiles appear in the Google Earth information bubble at each site and are printable and include Path budget information.

Add Obstructions to Path Profiles
SkyView Microwave now allows the user to select areas of terrain visually by distance from sites and add obstructions such as trees, buildings and towers. Multiple Obstructions can be easily added along the path and Google Earth helps th designer id tif areas where possible obstructions exist. h l the d i identify h ibl b t ti i t

Rain Attenuation
Path reliability calculations in SkyView Microwave now incorporate Crane Rain Fade calculations based on this industry accepted standard.

Design Criteria Filter

Designers can easily set design criteria for candidate (or existing) sites that will be clearly flagged where paths exceed the set criteria. This allows the user to easily identify paths that dont meet specific c te a t e use eas ly de t y pat s t at do t eet spec c criteria and remove them from the design or make engineering changes that will bring them into specification.

Design Criteria Filter

Paths that dont meet design criteria can be shown with a different LOS path color, and the failed parameters will show in red text in the Site Information Balloons in Google Earth - or these paths can simply be removed from the mix and a new project saved that pares down the path candidate choices.

Import Assistant
The new Import Assistant allows the designer to import files that are of the basic SkyView Import Template format or files that are of any delimited format that already exists in your data repositories.

The Import Assistant also allows commonly used file types to be saved as profiles so that a specific type of file can be imported with no manipulation after initially setting up the import profile the first time.
