Plug an empty USB memory stick (min size 1Gb) into your PC. Double click on the downloaded file. A Open File-Security Warning may appear, disregard it and Click <RUN> i. Now the Software Upgrade Window should appear. Select the drive that the USB memory stick was allocated, typically E: and then click OK. The files should start extracting. ii. When complete the window showing the percentage increasing should disappear. Turn on the OTDR making sure that the unit is powered via the 240V AC power pack and allow it to completely power up. Insert the USB Memory Stick into one of the OTDR USB ports located on the back of the mainframe. Allow a few seconds for the OTDR to recognize the Memory Stick (indicated by a beep). On the OTDR Press the <SYSTEM> button. Select <EXPERT TOOLS> then <SOFTWARE UPGRADE> then <FROM USB> Select <CONFIRM> Two (2) windows then should be displayed. One on the LEFT is the currently installed versions and the one on the RIGHT is the version in the update. Little green arrows in the right hand box should show that upgrade of each software component is required. Select <CONFIRM THIS CHOICE>. The upgrade will proceed and is completely automated and takes 3-5 minutes. The unit will restart at completion and will be ready to use. Once the unit has restarted press the <FILE> button. Select the EXPLORER option by pressing the <Setup/Explorer/LinkMgr> button (located bottom right of the screen) until the indication dot is shown against EXPLORER. Press the <EJECT USB> button, wait until the memory stick icon at the top of the screen shows a green arrow next to it then remove the USB memory stick. Select the SETUP option by pressing the <Setup/Explorer/LinkMgr> button (located bottom right of the screen) until the indication dot is shown against SETUP. The upgrade is now complete and has been successful.
