Los Pleneros de la 21s ticket subsidy series of cultural and educational performances for NYC schools, students, educators and community groups Bomba & Plena: In the House (ITH) was launched in 2007 out of LP21s goal to bridge a service gap in local New York City schools and educational institutions particularly those within the East Harlem and South Bronx areas. The Series, offered on a monthly basis, is open to all schools and age groups (grades k-12) By providing affordable educational performances appropriate to all grades and schools, ITH works to ensure the continued presence of arts and cultural expressions in students everyday learning experience. ITH also works to create cross-cultural and artistic dialogues by crafting engaging performances featuring talented and emerging artists from diverse backgrounds and influences, and tracing the musical connections on the stage for all to witness. Each performance features LP21s intergenerational ensemble of master traditional artists, professional musicians and versed arts educators and inspires students to make connections between the music on the stage with the traditions and expressions of their own backgrounds. With each ITH performance, LP21 plunges students, teachers and audiences directly into the world of cultural arts and music by providing: Insightful narratives Dynamic demonstrations Interactive exercises on stage with students and teachers Question and Answer with the artists .ALL in just 55 minutes! .
