Target Vocab:

Activity 1 – Review and Intro (5 mins)


-Ask ‘how are you’ and ‘how’s the weather?’ and ‘what time is it?’ and ‘what’s your favorite toy?’
-What did we talk about last class? (Eating Out) What foods do you know?
-Today we are going to talk about things we use to do art. Do you know what art means?

Activity 2 – Listen and Picasso (15 mins)


-p .50: listen/point, listen/repeat, and listen/number
-What does ‘in’ mean? On? Under?
-Pi ca sso :- 2 teams, one person from each comes to me and sees a card
-they run to the board and try to draw it and their team guesses it
-first team to guess gets a point, continue

Activity 3 – Active Phonics (10 mins)


-last class we learned the letters U, V, W, X (p.36) and ask for a word
-Today we will learn the last 2 letters in the alphabet
-Tele ph on e: whisper one word to the next person and so on until it comes back to me

Activity 4 –Dialogues (15 mins)


-p .50: listen/point and listen/repeat
-talk about meaning of ‘spell’ and ‘favorite’ and names of classes (science, English, Korean, math…)
-ask each student what their favorite class is
-ask all students how to you spell phonics words (zoo, zebra, zero, yellow…)
-Over and Under: 2 teams, first student turns around and says “What’s your favorite class?”
-next person answers “art class,” then the first person turns around and passes the
balloon over their head
-repeat except the second person passes under their legs and it alternates continuously
-try just with passing the balloon and then with conversation
-first team all through is the winner

Activity 1 –Review and Crossword (10 mins)


-Ask how are you to everyone and invite one student to change the face and word
-What day is it today? What time is it? What month is it? What do you want to be? Whose ___ is this?
-What did we talk about last class? (his/hers)
-Okay, let’s do this crossword puzzle to review what we’ve learned so far.

Activity 2- Listen (10 mins)


-p. 50: listen/repeat, listen/ number
-What do you notice about the endings of the words on the bottom? How are they different from the
words on the top?
-In English we talk about what happened in the past by adding –ed to the end of the action word.
-What are some other things that you did on the weekend?
-How can we change those action words to be in the past?

Activity 3 – Tic Tac Toe (15 mins)


-students in pairs write down plain present tense verbs in the grids.
-then the first students chooses a verbs and says it in present tense and then changes it to past tense
-If they get it correct then they can put an X or O (depending on what they are) over that square
-if they get it wrong then it is the other person’s turn

Activity 4- Dialogues (15 mins)


-p.50: listen/point, listen/repeat
-Sit up/sta nd up:-use the dialogue “Did you have a good weekend? Yeah, did you? Yeah. What did you
do?
I studied English. What did you do? I watched TV.”
-students should chant the dialogues together
-students should sit or stand up every time they say the word did
-Du ck Duc k: -close their eyes and I pick 2 students
-when I say go those 2 students go inside the circle and say the dialogue
-“What did you do yesterday?” “I ______”
-when they are done they race to the other person’s spot first one back is the winner
