Under Center-1 mishandled snap every 119 plays: 6 Lost Your line must be in a 2 point stance in the Gun You can operate from a 3 point stance. You cant block the box if you spread the field.

Why Your QB Will Love The Gun!

He has a wider peripheral field of vision for presnap reads. Every time he meshes with a back he will be moving downhill. Because he doesnt have to go backwards to give the ball he can see the defense and their reaction. Your QB will not trip over the centers foot. Your QB will have more opportunities to carry the football. Your QB already has depth in the pass game. Your QB will be able to see blitzes quicker and throw hot.

QB Pre Snap Alignment

QB Aligns at 4.5 yards from the center Feet are slightly staggered with throwing foot slightly in front Hands are comfortable, with fingers spread QB brings the snap through the third hand QB Snaps Eyes to Read

Running Back Alignment

RB Lines Up 1.5 to 2 Yards Behind QB, With his crotch splitting the OS leg of the guard. His eyes are straight ahead He is balanced, with his hands on his hips If his hands go to his knees, he goes to the bench We have some flexibility to his alignment

Whether the QB is reading the defender, or the QB is running one of the plays to the left, you force the defense to have to account for him. Getting the QB involved in the run game will help to open up different aspects of your pass game.

QB Pre-Snap Procedures In The Spread Gun Offense

The QB looks left and looks right He is checking depth of corners and number of safeties The QB makes his initial box read checking for the inverts He makes any checks if the play must be flipped or changed He begins his snap count

Getting Your QB Into The Run Game

This allows you to take advantage of the box as you spread the field QB can run Iso, Power, Sweep, Trap, Counter, and Zone You can run your misdirection game with the QB giving the ball to other players Forces the defense to account for your QB as a runner.

The Horses Set

The Horses Set

Horses is a one back wing set with 12 personnel We take the Z out and bring in a tight end to motion and crack the EMOL We use angle blocking We get great movement and force the defense to defend the flank We run several plays from this set to keep the defense form loading up on the sweep

The Horses Set

The horses set is a set we used to get our QB on the perimeter. We ran the horses set with great success. The base play is 18-19 Horses. We complement this play with 12-13 Iso, and all of our read plays. We also run our zone play, and run play action off the horses. The horses set is designed to get angle blocks on our opponents.

The Horses Set

Motion

Rules For 18-19 Horses

The motion man will crack the EMOL The Wing Will block the Invert The TE will block his inside gap PST Will Block Down if there is a 3 tech and pull if his inside gap is open PSG Will use OS Zone footwork to backer if he is uncovered If he is covered he will pull The center will block on or playside We will zone the backside

Zip 19 Horses
F C $ S E T M T W E C

This is 19 Horses to a solid front on the playside. Following our blocking rules, our TE and PST would block down and our PSG would pull and lead through. We would have our backside zone to the play.

Complementing The Horses Play

QB Iso is a great complement to 18-19 Horses You can also run quarterback trap You can throw the football from what is essentially a bunch set You can run all of your read plays

Using Your QB as a TB
In the one back gun, your QB can become the tailback Your ace back becomes your fullback You can run your regular two back run plays from the gun This is great if you have a very athletic quarterback

Getting Your QB In The Run Game

Quarterback Iso vs. 3-3 Stack F C $ W E M T S E N C

From an Even set under center, you couldnt run the Iso without motioning a slot. From the gun, you the defense has to account for two backs in the backfield, and still account for four wides. Versus the 30 stack, you can run QB Iso.

QB Iso
F C E T W N M T E $ C

We can put the tailback either to the call or away. The QB must delay slightly with the back away from the call

Iso To The Under

F C R E W T N M E $ $ C

The best case scenario is to run the ISO play to the shade. We get a combo to a backside backer.

14 Draw Trap Lead

F C E T M N W T E $ C

The QB will open as if he is throwing left and show the ball. The back will pass set one count and work up to the PSLB.

The QB counter is a great goal line play. This is also a great play versus the 3-3-5 defense.

QB Wrap

Another great short yardage play is the QB Wrap. The QB will ride the back then work into the A Gap.

The QB Power Play Weak Can Be Used With A Puller, Or Without

Installing the Empty Set

Forces the defense to account for five receivers while defending a running back Allows you to run your one back run plays with your quarterback as your primary runner Using motion, you can get a lead back or pitch man into the backfield You force the defense to pick their poison

Empty 12 Inside vs a 13
F C $ E T S N M T W C

The QB will take the snap and raise the ball to his hug and squeeze position, then he will attack the outside hip of his lineman blocking the Ohio. We are not blocking the backside 5, so we want to get downhill.

Draw Zone Off The Bubble

F C R E T W N M T S C

The QB will take the snap and put his shoulder to the bubble. He will work off the combo on the Nose or Shade.

Draw Zone With A Tug Call

F C R E T W N M T S C

The BST will work under the BSG up to the Will. We work this if we are getting flow from the will and we are having trouble reaching the backside DT.

Empty 12 Jack vs an Over

$ C W E T M T E F S C

Jack puts us in a fold scheme, with the inside lineman going first. With a 3 and a 1 tech, we get two angle blocks and we get the backers blocked. This is a quick hitting play.

QB Iso From Empty

F C R T W N M T E $ $ C

Motion one of your receivers into the backfield to become the lead back for the quarterback. You can motion the receiver across the formation and back, or motion him to the opposite guard.

QB Counter Trey
F C R T W N M T E $ $ C

Motioning the Y or A allows us to contain the backside B gap for the QB counter. The line executes counter blocking and we can either zone the 3 tech to the playside, or combo him to the PSLB.
