She is very smart and

 Lam Chau (My Little Forest)

She is my very good friend and she is

very sweet and kind. I love her very
much because she is the most
innocent girl who I ever met before. I
won’t never forget about her

her family, she cried to me and she
said “You are very good to me like a
sister and you are the one who listen
about me patiently when I am very
lonely. You are very kind to me.”
Our Flight
Schedule
Flying on the Air

 We took the MAI (Myanmar

Airways International) plane
at 4:30 p.m on 21st September
2004. Then we arrived to Don
Mound International Airport,
Bangkok. We waited there
about 3 hours and we
checked-in to transit to the
Japan. We took the JAL at
10:00 p.m and we had a night
on the jet plane.
Meeting with a YKC Staff at Bangkok
 This is our first trip to Japan so we had no experience about the
transit procedure. The girl seemed like an agent who is hired by YKC
waited us and she hold the paper which write down our names in her
hands. And she guided us where we have to check-in and she took us
to the restaurant where we have to have our dinner. YKC sponsored
for our dinner at the Bangkok Airport before we took the JAL.
Fortunately, we met one of the YKC staffs at the restaurant. He
noticed the labels “To Yokohama Kenshu Center, Japan” stacked on
our bag gages. And he started introducing himself and he said he will
take care of us until we arrive to YKC. We all were very happy at
that time and we have thanked him from this moment on. And his
name is Mishima San.
First Time on the JAL
 I have never took the JAL before. Our group got the seats in the
same line so we can talk to each other on the plane. They served
the supper and all the food are Japanese food so most of the
people in our group couldn’t eat anything but I like Japanese food
so I had no problem for the food. But I remembered that Ma Suu
couldn’t eat the Japanese Cold Noodle and she sacked for it. I
ordered the Tomato juice for her and she was fine after she had
the juice. After hading the supper, they gave the towel, pillow and
blanket to every passenger on the plane. I had some red wine and
then I went to sleep. At 5 o’clock in the morning, they served the
Japanese breakfast and Japanese Green Tea. They had no
European Breakfast so our group couldn’t eat anything again! At
6:30 a.m, we safely arrived to the Narital Airport and we all were
so exciting to see the Narita.
Exciting
Moment at
Narita!
The Great Narita Airport
 The better experience than I
had in Don Mound
International Airport,
Bangkok. There are 12 floors
in Narita Airport. Many people
were as busy as a bee and
going towards their
destination here and there.
The girl seemed like an agent
who is hired by YKC guided us
where to change the Japanese
Yen and where we took the
Narita Express. We, our group
were waiting for the moment
when the Narita Express will
start his trip to Yokohama.
Then we started our trip to
YKC (Yokohama Kenshu
Check-in to the YKC
 We took the taxi from the train station, where the Narita Express
stopped, to the YKC, Yokohama. Mishima San kept along with us
from the Bangkok Airport to YKC Training Center. When we arrived
to the YKC, we had checked in to the Training Center and reported
to the YKC reception. The admin staff from the reception
welcomed us and gave the necessary things like our private room
keys and some papers. Then they took along us to each private
room and they told us to drop into the YKC Lobby for the briefing
at 3:00 p.m. in the evening. Our private rooms were at the 9th
floor, the highest floor of the YKC building, of the West Wing. YKC
Building has two wings, East Wing and West Wing. We ate the
Yum Yum boiling noodle for our lunch and we took a nap for a
while as we were very tired along our trip. At 3 o’clock, we went to
the downstairs and watched the video tape showing the
information and Rules & Regulations of the YKC.
Check-in to the YKC
 At 3:00 p.m., we dropped in
the reception desk to watch
the AOTS reference videos
showing the information of
“Guide to YKC Training
Center”, “Guide to AOTS”,
“Starting Your Life in Japan”
and instructions to follow
during the stay at YKC. After
the showing videos, they gave
“R-Card to have meals and
drinks at the YKC cafeteria on
the 2nd floor, the Medical
Treatment Card and AOTS
Emergency Card for in case of
Emergency.
YKC Private Room
 Our private room had a telephone, a
television, both air-conditioning and
heating systems, an attached bath room, a
dress container, a table with drawers, a
chair, a table lamp and a book shelve. YKC
have daily housekeeping service and
catering service for all the training
participants.
YKC Dinning Hall & Cafeteria
 There was the card-reading
machine at the entrance of the
Cafeteria. We had to insert our R-
Card into the machine and it
issued the receipt. We placed the
receipt on our tray so that the
cafeteria staff can see it clearly.
We could select the meals at the
counters. Breakfast is a buffet
style. Lunch included one main
dish, two side dishes and rice or
bread. Dinner set included one
main dish, three side dishes and
rice or bread. If we didn’t want to
eat those dishes, we could have
to eat fried rice and could bring
chips and chocolates.
YKC Dinning Hall & Cafeteria

business hour. We had to
show our R-Card to the staff
on duty and we could have
coffee, tea, or soft drinks.

First Day of Our Program
 It was the day I never forget in my
life. We met with the Vietnamese
people who will be our friends later.
They all were interesting about our
traditional dresses and especially
the “Thanaka” on one of our
friends face. As I say true, I was
exciting at that time because self-
introduction was starting from me.
Each introduction was interesting.
Then we, all participants in our
program, went outside and took
the group photo with the Course
Co-coordinator, the director of the
YKC training center and the
President of the YKC. And we also
took the photo with Mishima San
who helped us through the journey
started from BKK to YKC. He is the
helpful and kind person and we are

General
Orientation
Course
Introduction to Japan, IT in Japan and
the Japanese Language
 We were given general information on daily life in Japan and an
outline of the economic circumstances surrounding IT in Japan. We
also had knowledge about IT in Japan in terms of national policy,
industry and corporate management through lectures and visits.
In parallel with the foregoing introductory lectures and visits, we
took Japanese language classes to assist with our stay in Japan
and to acquire a general grounding in the Japanese language,
which may help us in business relations with Japanese companies
in the future. On the final day of General Orientation Course, we
summarized our findings during the general orientation course
and made a group presentation on that day.
A Guide to
Daily Life in
Japan
Ikebana and Japanese Tea Ceremony

 Kobayashi Sansei taught us the traditional flower arrangement and

the way of making the Japanese Tea Ceremony. The drinking of
powdered green tea is with many rules such as no one can talk
during the Tea Ceremony, the drinking of tea must be at one
straight. Wow! Drinking with very strict rules. The taste was very
strong and bad not like the taste of green tea sold in Super Market.
This was the good experience for us to join the Japanese Tea
Ceremony and participate in the making of Ikebana.
Kimono
 The various kinds of Japanese Traditional Dress are called by the
general term “Kimono”. Many people wear Kimono on formal
occasions such as weddings or funerals, and many young people
wear them at graduation ceremonies or coming-of-age ceremonies.
At the first day of Japanese Traditional Art Lecture, we were so
exciting as Kobayashi Sansei told us that we, each, have to wear
the Kimono. I didn’t know what pattern shall I choose because all
kimonos are very nice. And I also didn’t know how to wear it.
Kobayashi Sansei taught us how to wear the Kimono. At that time, I
felt very strange feeling that I had never before and imagined that
I’m a Japanese girl.

Kamakura City
Tour
Kamakura Trips
 When the first half of the day was over we all were exciting to go to the
Kamakura. We had our lunch very quickly, took a bath and prepared
things to take in a rush. We, our group took bananas and potato chips
for our journey. Those food were given by YKC catering when we missed
our meal. We went to the Kamakura twice. Our first trip was organized
by AOTS and we went there by YKC Tour Bus and second trip was One
Day Sightseeing Tour invited by Kanagawa Systematized Goodwill Guide
Club (KSGG). And KSGG members introduced us historically interesting
places. They took no charge for the tour except transportation
expenses. We received a light meal pack from YKC staff before leaving.
We went to the Kamakura by Shingansan (Bullet Train) together with
KSGG members and AOTS payed all the admission fees of the temples
for all participants. The Kamakura city is a very small city and we visited
the whole city by Bus as well as on foot. There are many temples and
shrines in Kamakura. The temples and shrines we visited are:
1. Hase Kannon Temple
2. Great Buddha
3. Kencho-Ji Temple and
4. Hachiman Shrine
Sightseeing Tour in Kamakura
The Great Buddha
 This is the greatest Buddha statue I
have ever seen before. There is a
tunnel inside the Buddha statue. We
can ride a lift to the top of the
Buddha statue.
At the Hase Kannon Temple

 Me, in front of the Good

luck Amida Statue.
Parents offer flowers to
the statue and wish for
their child who departed
from them.
The amazing wish lists
at the Hase Kannon Temple

 The small wooden pieces

which are hanged on the rack
behind me are the wish lists
of the guests who visited the
Hase Kannon Temple. They
said if you want to fulfill your
wish, you have to write down
what you want to be on that
small wooden piece and then
hang on like that, your wish
will be fulfilled at one day.
My 10-Minute Kohibito
 Kohibito means lover. We met with
him at Kamakura City Tour and he
was from Kanagawa Systematized
Goodwill Guide Club (KSGG). His
name is Satoshi Ehara. The reason
why we named him 10-minute
kohibito was: At that time of when
we visited to the Hase Kannon
Temple, it was raining and we had
no umbrella. Ehara San took the
umbrella and he asked us that who
want to be his Kohibito about 10
minutes until the rain was
stopped. Then I was his 10-mintue
Kohibito because I accepted his
offer to take the umbrella together
At the Hachiman Shrine
 When I visited to the Hachiman

Shrine, I saw those amazing

tanks. Our goodwill Japanese

Guides told us that the drink

inside the tanks are very

delicious and guess what they

are! They are the Osake` Tanks.

Hummm...Oishi!
Unlucky Horoscopes Tree
at the Hachiman Shrine
 In the compound of the
Hachiman Shrine, there is a
place for asking your future
(prediction). You have to
shake the bamboo container
and make one prediction to
jump up from the bamboo
container. If the prediction is
unlucky or bad, you have to
hang around your prediction
like that. So your future will
be bright and beautiful. All the
above were explained by our
goodwill Japanese guides.
The Ancient Bells
at the Kencho-Ji Temple

 There are so many ancient bells in

the Kencho-Ji temple of Kamakura.

Kamakura Beach

 I Love the beach very much

especially the Kamakura
Beach because that trip was
the unforgettable trip in my
life. In our group, there were
Indian, Vietnamese,
Philippine, Mongolia, Japanese
and we, Myanmar people. See
how we were happy in the
picture.

Visit to the IT
Companies
Fujitsu Numazu Complex
 It was my great pleasure to visit
to the one of the giant IT firms in
Japan. Fujitsu has been
developing computers with its
own technologies since the
1950s. In order to meet the
needs of the customers in the
Information era, the Fujitsu
Numazu Complex is constantly
working to promote the perfect
environment for state-of-the-art
IT technology, R&D and the

Where we had visited?
 Ikeda Memorial Room
Dr. Toshio Ikeda was a genius computer engineer, whose
achievements range from developing first-generation electro-
magnetic relay computers all the way how to work on today’s
fourth-generation computers. On display are Dr. Ikeda’s first relay
computer, documentation of his designs, papers and manuscripts
– and the way they developed.
 Hardware Display Room
The Hardware Display Room displays some of the most cutting
edge servers and system boards, along with an easy to
understand explanation of the LSI Chip’s composition. We have
seen the FACOM 128B relay-type computer in the Hardware
Display Room. We have also visited to Numazu Training Center
and Fujitsu Banking Software System Development Room.
Kanaju Corporation
 I never forget that we had visited
to the Kanaju Corporation and
met with the President, Shuzo
Makino. Kanaju Corporation is a
company as a group of general
agents for energy and gas. It was
founded as Tsuruoka Shokai Seya
Office in 1963 and established as
Seya Propane Co., Ltd. In 1965. In
1973, changed the company
name as Kanagawa Jusho Co., Ltd.
and changed the company name
to Kanaju Corporation in 1990.
 At Kanaju Corporation, we had visited to the server room, the call center to see
how they
handle the enquires, the orders and the complaints. And then the President,

Tokyo City Tour
A Visit to Akihabara
 The area of Tokyo known as
Akihabara is famous for its
concentration of shops selling
electrical and electronic goods
at discount prices.

 Since almost anything electrical or

electronic, from refrigerators to televisions
and from complete computers to computer
parts, can be bought more cheaply here
than anywhere else, this area is a popular
shopping stop with tourists from overseas
as well as with the Japanese themselves.
So this is one of the Tokyo’s busiest
Tempura Dinner at Akihabara

 Tempura is the popular dish in Japan and consists of fish and

vegetables deep fried in a flour-and-water batter. It can be eaten
after dipping it into a soup based on soy sauce. Ma Naw Phaw, a
friend of Saya U Min Lwin, took us to one of the restaurants in
Akihabara and served the Tempura Dinner to us. We had very
delicious dinner there. The lovely child beside me in the above
photo is Ma Phaw’s daughter.
A
Visit to
Ginza

 The Ginza is Tokyo’s most fashionable district, and is packed with high
class shops, department stores, clubs and bars. It is one of Japan’s
most important fashion centers along with places such as Shinjuku
and Harajuku.
A Visit to Shinjuku
 Shinjuku is one of Tokyo’s
sub centers. Since the
railway lines to and from the
suburbs met at this sub
