To be able to drive through the streets and highways in the Philippines, you need to secure a drivers license issued

by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). There are certain criteria before someone can be qualified to obtain a drivers license. He/she must be at least 17 (for non-professional license applicants) or 18 (for professional license applicants) years of age, mentally and physically fit to operate a vehicle and able to read and write in Filipino or English. More importantly, the applicant must not be a drug user or an alcoholic, as validated by the drug and alcohol test you are required to take prior to the license application.
