In the accompanied figure the graph of a uniform magnetic field, Bt through a conducting loop is plotted as a function of time. The direction of the magnetic field is perpendicular to the plane of the loop. Rank the six regions of the graph according to the magnitude of emf induced in the loop, the smallest first. Why? Explain.[1/2]

The armature of a 50 Hz ac generator rotates in a 0.25 T magnetic field. If the area of the coil is 400 cm 2 . How many loops must the coil contain if the peak output is to be 0 300. V ? [1/2]
4.
The potential difference across a given coil is 22.5 V at an instant when current is 860 mA and is increasing at a rate 3.40 A / s . At a later instant, the potential difference is 16.2 V whereas the current is 700 mA and is decreasing at a rate of [0/3/ M1235] 1.80 A/ s . Determine the inductance and resistance of the coil.

In the accompanied figure a conducting circular metallic loop of diameter 50.0 cm , and resistance 5.00 is illustrated. As shown in the figure, fifty percent of the figure, i.e. the half-circle lies in a uniform magnetic field Bt that is directed out of the page of the paper and towards the reader of these words. The magnitude of the magnetic field is a quadratic function of time and may be expressed as Bt 5.00 t 2 3.00 t 9.00 T The magnetic field B is in Tesla and time t in seconds. An ideal battery with emf bat 9.00 V is connected to the loop as illustrated in the figure. a. b.
Find the direction and magnitude of the induced current in the metallic circular loop by Bt as a function of time t . [1/3] Calculate the direction and magnitude of the current in the loop at t 10.0 s ? Explain. [2/1/ M25]

6. As illustrated in the accompanying figure a 3.00 kg metallic rod of length 10.0 cm is placed on two long parallel conductor rails which may be assumed resistance free. The conductors are connected in series to a 0.250 resistor. As shown in the figure a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 2.50 T is directed out of the page. The bar is in a good contact with the conductor rails. The metallic bar is given an initial velocity 9.00 m / s . The friction coefficient between the rails and the metallic bar is 0.045 . a. Find the magnitude and direction of the induced current in the loop immediately after it is shot in the direction as illustrated in the figure, i.e. towards the top of the page. [2/1] Find the deceleration of the bar at the point its velocity is dropped to 6.00 m / s . [1/3/M1235]
