At the root of my desire to pursue a career in law, is an intense love and sense of connection with people all over

the world, and especially those in need of basic resources. This sense of connection and destiny that is so poignant for me stems from my multicultural and ethnic background, global volunteering, and my working experience. I am a 23 year old woman from Romania who feels strongly that I have already established an impressive track record of achievements that makes me an excellent candidate for this competitive program. Experiencing some of the worst moments of the oppressive communist regime, with little access to the outside world, I learned to be patient, constructive and creative, and to seize the opportunity as it arises. I also learned how to exercise a deep sense of moral obligation to serve and help others by participating in the struggle for freedom and peace with justice, an enormously profound passion was aroused deep within me for seeing and experiencing the world of international affairs and relations. Longing for contact with the outside world and to expand my educational experience, I left my home and family at the age of 16 years old, and flew for the first time to the United States, as an exchange student. Embracing this challenging opportunity, I successfully built a new life in Minneapolis where I have earned a B.A. degree from XXXX College in International Relations with a special focus on International Business. Despite some catching up to do in English, I graduated in only 3 1/2 years with a 3.81 GPA, Magna Cum Laude, which provided me with a solid feeling of empowerment and direction. I have successfully adapted to a melting pot of cultures and identities which I had never experienced before, vast changes in my perspective on life, and this has helped me to open up my mind and see beyond my own experience, increasing my desire to work in the international legal field. While in college, seeking to broaden my educational experience and to take on newintellectual challenges, I worked at two internships as a paralegal. The versatility and challenge of my work as a more responsible in my decisions and judgments, and this experience has helped me to better realize how much I enjoy learning and challenging myself. I find the work of an attorney to be exquisitely challenging, stimulating, and generally gratifying. Every day, I enjoyed researching new cases and figuring out the pieces of a new puzzle. I see becoming an attorney as assuming an enormous responsibility and this helps to keep me focused and committed to what I am doing. During the internships, I drafted wills, prepared papers for the Court, participated in clients interviews and meetings, experienced many cases in court, and even had the privilege of representing the law firm in a Small Court Case once, and won. After seeing the positive impact a lawyer has on others lives, my desire to attend law school and pursue a career in law became even stronger. In a further search for additional opportunities to refine my ability to think from multiple perspectives, I studied abroad in Germany for one semester, with the IES European Union Program. As part of the program, I visited France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Latvia, and was able to meet with

well-known ambassadors, diplomats, and political figures of these countries. These experiences also strengthened my goal to pursue a career in law, by introducing me to different aspects of International and European law. The University of XXXX at Eugene is my first choice for Law School because I want to practice International Lawhence, my interest in the joint JD/MA in International Studies. I am also attracted to the departments proactive spirit and proven commitment to community service as reflected by its multiple Oregon State Bar Pro Bono Challenge awards. University of XXXXs reputation of academic excellence and its resources also plays a big role in my law school decision. I believe that your school and community will help me get out into the world, well prepared/primed and ready to offer my best in the service of others. I see the University of XXXX as the best place to prepare myself to fight competently for the advancement of International Human Rights. Volunteering is not only a passion of mine but also one of my daily vitamins for fulfillment. I have been groomed since infancy for service to others. Ever since I was a small child, I remember spending Christmas day surrounded by orphans. Every year my parents and I would gather hundreds of presents and food supplies for the orphanages in our city. Malnourished and living in abysmal conditions, the gratitude, smiles and unflinching optimism of these children will remain with me always. While in college, I spent a year-and-a-half as a volunteer with The Campus Kitchen, cooking and serving food to the poorest members of the XXXX community, mostly minorities. I also organized Food and Clothing Donation Drives around our campus and volunteered for the Feed My Starving Children campaign. Honoring my roots and my people, I also spent 10 hours a week in the summer of 2004 teaching English and U.S. culture to children from Romania. One of my significant goals in life has been to someday build a nursing home for unprivileged elderly citizens in Romania; this resulted from seeing many mothers and fathers being abused, and thrown out of their home by their children. Following my graduation from college graduation, I returned to Romania and started a campaign for financing and building a Nursing Home for 250 residents in my home town, Iasi. I established a budget, detailed plans, and began a campaign for support, collaboration, funding and a search for land upon which to build. We hope to begin construction by January 1st, 2008. By volunteering I realized how much I mean to my community, how much they need me, and how much I can do for them. These experiences have served to fortify me to fight for the rest of my life against injustice, discrimination, hunger and poverty. Volunteering confirmed my goal of attending law school. I believe I can make a difference in this world, and if I follow my vocation of becoming a lawyer, then I believe that I will

have the most extensive opportunity possible to become an effective instrument of progressive social change.

Following my college graduation, I came back to Romania and start working for XXXX Company, as a Vice-President of the Human Resources Department, helping them to promote a new company image. As a VP of Human Resources, I implemented a new Employers Compensation Program, which focuses on employers' needs outside of the workplace, primarily food, shelter, family, and education. As a result of this program, several company employers have returned to college to finish their degrees. I also represented the company at different international Trade Fairs and Expositions, traveling in this capacity to Kln, Germany and Tokyo, Japan, and participated at some of the biggest trade shows in the Chemistry Industry. While in Japan, in particular, I learned a lot about how efficiency, precision and the importance of passion for ones work, and I have incorporated these insights into my work in Human Resources. And great passion for work can contribute greatly to a developing economy, such as Romania's. After my return from Japan, I implemented a new Human Resources approach based merely on those three factors: efficiency, preciseness and great passion for work. My long term goal is to some day work as part of a powerful network of attorneys that I help to organize, motivate, and direct; in this way I hope to make as profound a contribution as I possible can to social change. I want to fight the scourge of corruption in public affairs and labor to foster good government and public virtue, enhancing peoples access to health care, safety, education, and fair wages. Living under a brutal communist regime in my native Romania helped to lay the foundation for my extremely high level of motivation to help others fight for their freedom and a life with human dignity. By pursuing a career in law, I am following my vocation of making a better tomorrow for people today. I believe that my enthusiasm, passion for justice, and eagerness to share my multicultural experience with others will make a difference in the law school community. You will undoubtedly encounter many applicants bringing prestige to your institution over the years, but if you need a catalyst that will bring diversity, effectiveness and leadership as well. I believe my contribution and commitment will make the difference. I want to thank you for consideration of my application. 2 1.MY PROPOSED STUDY AT THIS PROGRAM 2.My FUTURE PLANS 3.MY PAST Date Dear Sir or Madam I am writing to express my interest in applying for a Master in Economics at the University of XXXX

starting in autumn 2012. My decision to choose the Economics program in XXXX mainly grounds on under given factors: With a career in Economics as my professional goal, I realize the necessity of obtaining the difficult theoretical and practical knowledge to reach that goal. After searching information on graduate programs in economics, I find that your program fits well with my long term academic and career plans. One of the top reasons I wish to attend University of XXXX is because this Economics program would not only provide me with the essential education, but also vast opportunities to continue my studies and conduct research in the field of Economics. In other words, this specific Master Program comes from the fact that in the near future I would like to get to know more concepts, like modern economics and addresses issues such as business cycles, economic development, the functioning of markets and strategic interaction, how income is generated and distributed, and the role of economic policy. In fact offered program includes all of these conceptions. Another key point, The Master program also gives an excellent chance for specializing in fields such as petroleum economic, development economics, international trade and globalization. Accordingly, I would like to stress that our countries possess similar features not only in locality fields but also in economical concepts thus, oil, gas and fishing constitutes major economical durability of both countries. Together with I know that this Master Program would be an excellent starting point for my further academic performance in order to reach PhD level. You could be sure that I have enough work-related, analytical and methodological skills and abundant educational background for performing well. As an illustration, I would like to emphasize that my academic performance has been always on top of class both for secondary and high school. As a result, my GPA for secondary school is 4.9 (out of 5) and 4.8(out of 5) for high school. As a graduate student from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy I concentrated on getting a solid background in Economics, mathematics, and statistics which will make me enable to perform well in many courses. Furthermore, even when I was sophomore my course papers were always distinct from others, such as in the comparison of Oil Industry and Environmental Problems in Azerbaijan, U.S.A and Middle East Countries. In addition, I was the recipient of scholarship from State Oil Academy, British Petroleum (Azerbaijan branch) and SOCAR's full-bright scholarship. As well as I served as a leader of Faculty Youth and Research clubs. My duty consisted of organizing regular discussions, like Marketing programs, International Economics, development of local enterprises, development of business in modern conditions and activities such as language learning hours, dancing competitions, swimming & ping pong tournaments and music contests among the university students. Apart from my research experience, other activities and academic excellence, I also devoted equal effort to work experience and internship as I believe they will help me become a well-rounded individual. I used to work in distinct fields such as in "Elshan Ltd.(Oil&Gas Marketing Company)" as a marketing manager, "Azinka(Human Resource&Career Center)" as a Senior Recruitment Consultant, including Internship in Baku city Head Customs Department, Internship in Xazar Ltd. Broadcasting Company, Production experience in SOCAR(Azerbaijan). In my opinion, learning doesn't stop when you graduate it is a process that continues throughout life. I expect that the knowledge I obtain in the master program will allow me to return home and obtain a job in the oil sector which would allow me to contribute in improving economic aspects of the oil industry. You could be sure that my academic credentials of a top tier education with a strong scientific

component, my academic background, work experience and my personal traits such as good communication skills, leadership qualities, and team work attitude make me a worthy candidate for your Master program. I would like to avoid saying clichs, but I believe "diligence is the mother of good luck and success", You could be sure that I have enough educational background and motivation not to disappoint you. I hope you will accept me for aspired program and give me a chance to realize my dreams and to create new relationships with people from different cultures for making the world smaller. Discuss your plans for graduate study and your career objectives. The movement towards a global economy and unprecedented explosion of free trade and exchange worldwide has brought about immense opportunities to develop newer tools, instruments and methodologies in the field of financial management. It is this challenging environment to which I intend to contribute by evolving meaningful and optimal solutions to various problems of finance. Thus, my goal is a career in International Finance and/or academic research wherein I could advance analytical approaches to financial management. To achieve my career goals, I need to learn much more about current developments and techniques in finance, financial markets and financial applications and acquire hands-on experience of financial analysis. A Master's Degree will provide me with theoretical understanding, an in depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decision-making and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas of financial strategies and global corporate financial operations. I would like to probe specific problem areas such as the application of quantitative analysis to understanding various issues in global finance and improving decision-making and effect of increase in global communications on international finance decisions. My research interests are Foreign exchange markets, hedging foreign exchange risk, international capital budgeting, corporate financial strategy including mergers and acquisitions. Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with computer applications and experience gained while working on various school projects have helped me to develop sharp analytical abilities and have given me the confidence to tackle advanced problems on a macro level. In addition, the experience gained while marketing Darwin Bug Traps or while studying the marketing strategy of Tastee Ice-cream and advanced level qualifications in French have developed good interpersonal and communication skills. I look forward to applying these abilities to the immense opportunities available at Hyderabad University (HU). I have selected the M.A. program of HU because of its outstanding faculty and research facilities, emphasis on a collaborative learning environment, flexibility in curriculum, study abroad opportunity and a global perspective to various key issues. I hope to become a part of this dynamic culture which will give me a leading edge to work effectively in diverse teams and situations.

I am a young woman from Albania. Throughout my life I have been intrigued with what has went on beyond the borders of my home world in Albania. People used to make fun of me, for many years, for reading newspapers. While other girls would go out and play, and later run around with boys, I spent most of my life at home reading newspapers about other countries, politics, culture, etc., magazines, books, everything that I could get my hands on. In this way, at only 27, I feel like I am a very solid candidate for your program because of extent of my preparation, the fact that I have dedicated my life so far largely to the study of International Relations. Born in my native Albania, I was also raised partly in Greece, France, and England. All of the three countries taught me a lot and helped to deeply entrench my language skills. For me, language ability and International Relations go hand in hand. Also, I am convinced that Greece, France, and England represent three of the very highest cultures on the planet in terms of moral/social codes and norms and I am deeply pleased with the my international character that has developed as a result of the diversity of my upbringing and my education so far. In addition to England, France has also made an enormous impact on my long term multicultural identity and plans, since I completed my B.A in International Business Administration at the American University of Paris. Furthermore, I feel strongly that my candidacy to your program is further bolstered by the Msc. Degree in Management, in the area of Construction, that I have already earned at Kingston University in London. Thus, I feel that I have made an almost ideal preparation to be considered as a candidate to begin your program at the XXXX School of Economics. 5
