Abstract

The region that we studied, in northwestern of Golestan province in Iran and in other
word in southeastern of Caspian sea and southwestern margin of Turkmanestan
Gharah Ghoom desert reposed that with 1850 km2 area and -14 m mean altitude
from free sea level and 0.2% (two in thousand) mean slope, occurred that Agh ghala
& Gomishan plain named, that existence several than solitary dunes in this region,
the whole views has been direct toward that the source of this solitary dunes in this
humble and low- elevation lands, what and where are from could be that
comprehensive and exact studings in region to be accomplished so far as possible
provenance of this sediments distinguished. With due attention to studing achieved,
dunes and above mentioned sediments divided into the three group, so that their trait
included:
Dunes of region in Tazeh Abad, Agh ghala ring road, Goop Kaljeh, nebkas of
Naftlijeh mud volcano south and Sangar Tappeh sentry post eastern, with due
attention to granolumetery, morphoscopy and mineralogy of mentioned region
sediments and by erosion numerous facies, the particles origin can be within the
limits of 15-30 km considered that origin region of this sediments is previos
neoCaspian type or Sangar Tappeh (Qfm1) and Naftlijeh active mud volcano type in
the Caspian sea coastals playa unit. Mentioned dunes sediments, could considered
coastal dunes sediments that is component of secondary sediments regarded.
Existing sediments in Ashoradeh region facies that with due attention to the trait like
upper characterize and relative large size of particles about 182 µm, could vicinity of
particles origin conceived. The origin of this sediment, alluvium depositions brought

by Caspian sea and its deposition is in Ashoradeh peninsula that with due attention
to the alluvium materials direct deposition in the study region, it could coastal
sediments conceived.
Loess dune that in north of study region or loess dune of the Sangar Tapeh sentry
post that with attention to its fine relatively granolumetery and type of minerals and
its special morphoscopy, having the a far until relative vicinity source and origin
about 50-100 Km that also the tallness curve having three mode, that in addition to,
water and wind agents could accompaineaby glacier, conceived ٫ and with attention
to the existence frontier localities problems we couldn ُ t fined exact provenance
from them and probably can the them origin to have in mind the Middle Asia or north
and northwestern of Caspian sea. For this reason, upper deposition to be from the
coastal- glacier dunes depositions type. Necessary to know that aspect of all this
dunes is than west or northwestern to eastern.
