Rights and obligations of parents

Introduction:
Mr. President, respectable audience and my dear fellow students. Today I have been given the opportunity to talk about the rights and obligations of parents. Mr. President , Our parents brings us in this world. They are the sweetest people on the earth who take care of us. They soothe us when we cry, They laugh with us when we smile. They are worried when we are sick. They are the happiest people on earth when we move around gleefully. When we are child they are our whole world. Dear audience,

Obligations of Parents Allah gives children to parents with certain obligations. Parents are required to bring up their children properly so that he may become a useful citizen of the society. Children have the right to be fed, clothed and protected till they grow up to adulhood. It is, primarily, the duty of the father to do that. Mother can provide help if necessary. Protection means protection against physical as well as moral and intellectual harm. Parents are duty bound to see that the childs personality develops in all fields. 1. The first duty of Parents is to provide good education to his children. The prophet of Allah says: The best of you is one who gives a good education
(intellectual and moral) to his children. In an other Hadith the Prophet has laid stress on the education of daughters: He who provides good upbringing to 3 daughters shall go to Paradise. A man asked, what if one has only two daughters.

2. It is the duty of Parents to give proper love and affection to their children. Small
children need the love and attention all the time. They like to be kissed and hugged.

The little child needs the tender lap of mother . He smiles at the sweetest touch of mothers hand.

A mothers love, how sweet the name,

What is a mothers love?

A noble, pure and tender flame

Enkindled from above

Prophet (SAWS) set example by showing great love to his grandparents Hassan and Hussain(R.A). They would ride his shoulders even during prayers. Mr. President Parents should teach their children how to be good citizen in this world. They should also give them good moral advice and tell them how to live in this world. Hodding Carter Says: There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings.

Parents should also know that they are the role models for their children. You are setting an example Every day in all you do; For the little boy who's waiting To grow up to be just like you.

Rights of Parents Mr. President, If the parents have some obligations, they have their rights too. They give a lot of things to their kids and in return their children have to give them back what they can give .
Quran lays stress on feeling grateful to parents, and doing good to them. And your Lord has ordained that you shall worship none save Him and shall do your parents a good turn. Right to be obeyed and Respected It is the right of parents that they should be obeyed and respected by their children. Islam advises the children not to say even the word UFF before parents. Parents do everything for the welfare of their offspring. Even if they show some strictness, they are only being cruel to be kind. Children are not allowed to disobey them. If they do so they will invite the wrath of Allah. Right to be looked after Parents look after their child whey they are little kids. Similarly when they grow old they need the attention of their children. It becomes the duty of children to look after their elderly parents and provide them all facilities. A Quranic Verse says: People ask you (O Prophet) how should they spend. Say, whatever you spend should be spent on Allah (in good cause), on parents, near relatives, on orphans, destitutes and travelers (who fall short of money in foreign lands).

Conclusion. Dear audience, I have said a few words about the duties and rights of the parents and I hope that my thoughts have found some

place in your hearts and minds. I shall conclude my speech with the following verses:

You see, my friend, there's no one who can love you more, Than your very own parents, that's for sure. Always remember that this is true, That wherever you go, your parents will be there for you.
