Minimum Software Requirements for Installing iCafeManager Client


1. Microsoft Windows XP 2. Internet Explorer 5.5

Minimum Hardware Requirements for Installing iCafeManager Client


1. Processor: 800 MHz (and above) 2. RAM: 128 MB 3. Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 (optional but strongly recommended)

Other Important Requirements


1. If you are using Windows Firewall you may see the following dialog when you install iCafeManager Client on a terminal. Please remember to click Unblock on this dialog.

Figure 1: Windows Security Alert 2. If you use some other firewall it may display a different dialog where you need to allow/unblock iCafeManager Client. Most firewalls have an exception list where you can add an application manually so that the firewall can allow the application to communicate with other terminals. To add iCafeManager Client to the exception list, you will have to add the file iCMDesktop.exe which can be found in the folder where you have installed iCafeManager Client.

Downloading iCafeManager Client Installer


1. Visit the website: http://www.icafemanager.com 2. Browse to the Downloads section. 3. Download the latest iCafeManager Client Installer provided on the website. The file you download will be a zip file and you will need to extract the installer.

Preparing to run iCafeManager Client Setup Application


1. Choose a drive and folder location where you want to install iCafeManager Client. IMPORTANT: If you are using any system restore application (eg:DeepFreeze), please thaw the drive before installation. 2. Make sure that you have selected a drive that has sufficient free space. To install iCafeManager Client you need the following disk space: a. 5 MB Free space on the system drive. In a default Windows setup the system drive is C: b. 5 MB free space on the drive where you choose to install iCafeManager Client.

Installing iCafeManager Client


1. Run the setup from the location where you have downloaded and extracted it. It will take a few moments to prepare the setup.

Figure 3: Preparing Setup 2. After the setup has completed preparing for the install, it will take you to the welcome screen. Clicking on Next button in this setup (see following dialog) will take you to the folder selection dialog.

3. Here you can select the destination folder where you want to install iCafeManager Client. Click Next once you have selected a folder.

4. Setup will copy all required files in this step of the installation.

IMPORTANT: The system must be restarted for the setup to complete the installation process. Also please login as an Administrator when the system restarts because the terminal must be activated before you can start using iCafeManager Client. The activation can be done only from the admin mode.

Activating a iCafeManager Client


After you have completed the installation, each terminal must be activated so that it has connectivity with your iCafeManager Server. In the activation process each terminal is uniquely identified and helps in connecting to iCafeManager Server. Follow these simple steps to activate your terminal. Remember that after the setup is complete, iCafeManager Client will automatically start when you re-login. The activation dialog will appear if the terminal is not activated. 1. Verify your cafe details by entering your activation code and clicking on the Verify button. The system will fetch your cafe details (name and address) from the iCafeManager server and display it in the section below. Verify that your cafe name and address is correct.

2. After checking your cafe details, click on Activate Terminal button to

complete the activation. If the activation is complete iCafeManager Client will start automatically.
