Scope of Work General Wireless Communication System shall be deployed under the scope of this project so as to interconnect the

below furnished project locations for seamless voice and data communication. New Water Injection Clusters and corresponding Water Injection wells. Existing RDS-9 Wireless Network and corresponding new Oil production wells.

The new Wireless Communication System installed in the new WICs shall be interfaced with the existing FO Network in BCDS via Single mode Fibre Optic cable links. Wireless Communication System shall be based on point to multipoint wireless broad band solution. The System shall be scalable in design and shall accommodate the present project requirements as well as the requirements brought on by future expansions. The System shall operate on designated UHF/SHF frequency range (HOLD) facilitating minimum throughput of 100Mbps at the base Station. The System shall use up-to-date modulation techniques. Selected Wireless Communication System shall have the capability to operate under non-LOS (Line of Site) conditions and shall support IP/Ethernet standard for operability with the project systems. EPC CONTRACTOR/VENDOR shall provide a reliable Wireless System in compliance with the latest TRA Standards and Stipulations.

Water Injection Well/Oil Production Well Radio Infrastructure Radio Infrastructure in the respective Water Injection and Oil Production wells shall meet the following minimum requirements. Wireless Communication System consisting of Antenna, Radio Unit/Modem, Ethernet switch, associated cabling and related accessories. Supplied Wireless System and related accessories shall be certified for Zone-2 hazardous area classification. Parabolic antennas shall be mounted on 10-15 m telecom towers so as to facilitate adequate radio wave propagation. Radio Unit/Modem along with the Ethernet switch shall be housed in a special enclosure/shed located adjacent to the Telecom tower. Appropriate feed line shall be used to interconnect the Antenna with the Radio Unit/Modem. Outdoor lighting arrestor for damage protection against indirect lighting strikes.

Solar power system shall be used to extend power to the Antenna, radio unit/modem and Ethernet switch.

Water Injection Cluster Radio Infrastructure Radio Infrastructure in the respective Water Injection Clusters shall meet the following minimum requirements. Wireless Communication System consisting of Antenna, Radio Unit/Modem, Ethernet switch, associated cabling and related accessories. Supplied Wireless System and related accessories shall be certified for Zone-2 hazardous area classification. Sector antennas shall be mounted on 25 m telecom towers so as to facilitate adequate radio wave propagation. Radio Unit/Modem along with the Ethernet switch shall be housed within a 19 Equipment cabinet located in the WIC Control/Equipment Room adjacent to the Telecom tower. Appropriate feed line shall be used to interconnect the Antenna with the Radio Unit/Modem. Outdoor lighting arrestor for damage protection against indirect lighting strikes. 240 VAC UPS Power supply shall be provided in the WIC Control/Equipment Room so as to extend power to the Antenna, radio unit/modem and Ethernet switch.

Wireless System Design Requirements Antenna: Parabolic antennas and Sector antennas shall be installed in the Water injection wells/Oil production wells and WICs respectively under the scope of this project. Considering the possibility of multipath interference, Antenna diversity mechanism shall be used for system reliability (as required). Selected radio equipment shall be designed to ensure that the receiver with better performance is online at any given moment. Repeater antennas (Single or dual) along with the radio system shall be provided (as required). The Single antenna shall support communications in both directions from the repeater. The two separate antennas shall support the use of one antenna forward of the repeater and the other for communication reverse of the repeater.

Type of antenna along with finer design details such as positioning, polarization, Operating frequency range, antenna gain, transmit power, receiver sensitivity as well as requirement of repeater stations shall be finalized based on Radio Coverage Study.

Antenna Installation: EPC CONTRACTOR/VENDOR shall mount the respective Antenna types in Towers adjacent to the new WICs and the Water injection/Oil production wells under the scope of this project. Height of towers shall be determined based on Radio Coverage Study. Refer Doc.No. 11.99.68.0627 Specification for Telecom Tower for installation details of telecom tower. The Antennas have to be mounted with proper mounting hardware and bracket to ensure a secure mounting arrangement. The below given recommendations shall be followed as minimum: Mount the antenna in the clear, as far away as possible from obstructions such as buildings, metal objects, dense foliage, etc. Choose a location that provides a clear path in the direction of the associated station. Polarization of the antenna is important. Antenna Polarization shall be uniform for the master station and the remote station antennas. Cross-polarization between stations can cause a signal loss of 20 decibels (dB) or more.

Radio Unit: The Radio Unit/Modem shall be a carrier grade broadband wireless infrastructure product operating in the designated UHF/SHF frequency band (HOLD) and approved by TRA. The System shall have provisions for measuring signal strength and allow periodic link condition/state verification, even if no traffic is present to ensure a higher degree of reliability. System shall support data traffic monitoring to verify the link stability. System shall be capable to store and forward data and support the application protocol communication. System shall support advanced applications such as transparent LAN, VOIP and high quality video. System shall support various operation modes such as master, slave, repeater or repeater slave. System shall support both Ethernet and serial data. System shall support duplex operation in point to multipoint mode.

System shall support minimum throughput of 100 Mbps. System shall be manageable through the use of Standard web browser or NMS. Radio Unit shall be certified for Zone-2 hazardous classification area. Radio Unit shall be robust and reliable with IP 65 protection. Radio Unit shall have the following interfaces Ethernet : 10/100 Base T, RJ-45 Serial: 1,200 115,200 bps, COM 1 RS-232, DB-9F Antennas : Tx/Rx TNC/BNC connectors

Feed line: EPC CONTRACTOR/VENDOR shall use low loss feedline so as to interface the antennas with the Radio unit/modem. Following factors shall be considered while selecting feedline: Distance between the Antenna and the Radio equipment Amount of signal loss that can be tolerated

Ethernet Switch: Ethernet switch shall be industrial grade and suited for 19 rack/panel mounting. Ethernet switch shall have a minimum of 24 Ethernet ports for interfacing the IP based systems. Switches shall provide support IEEE 802.1Q VLAN Standard and SNMP Standards. Switches shall have per-port status LEDs for Link Integrity, Disabled and Activity indications.

Radio Configuration & Diagnostic: Workstation consisting of user friendly interface with wizards and menus shall be provided in the new WICs for monitoring the RF Network in the new WICs. The Network Management client workstation shall facilitate management of the radio network devices through web server program. The Network Management Client workstation in the new WICs shall support the following requirements not limited to:

Monitoring and reporting capabilities. Generation of alarms and detection of hardware and transmission problems. Trouble shooting and Analysis features. Able to detect and locate network problems in real time. Generation of reports on traffic and performance based on key performance indicators. Wireless diagnostics such as signal strength, signal to noise ratio, notification of link failure etc.

Radio Coverage Study Radio Coverage Study shall be conducted by a Communication consultant or System Integrator so as to analyze and evaluate the feasibility of deploying the most appropriate State of Art Wireless Communication System in the designated locations meeting the project requirements. The Communication consultant shall conduct site visits to study the terrain, landscape, foliage, any man made obstructions etc in the new WICs, Water Injection Wells and Oil Production wells so as to predict the radio coverage in the project locations. In addition, the consultant shall also use topographic maps, advanced software programs and other computer assisted studies to simply the process of path planning. Outcome of the radio coverage study shall finalize the following as minimum Radio System type and the specific operating frequency range at which the Antenna/Radio unit has to be tuned for optimum broadcast. Radio Network Topology. Location, positioning, down tilt setting and height at which the antenna has to be mounted. Type and Number of Antennas at the master station and the remote stations.

Length of the cables (feed line) between the Antenna and the associated Radio unit/modem. Requirement of repeater stations so as to enhance the signal strength in coverage hole areas. Radio parameters such as Signal strength, Fade Margin and Reliability of the proposed radio links. Antenna gain, feed line loss, transmit power and receiver sensitivity.

Site Selection Installation sites for master and remote stations shall be carefully considered. Suitable sites should provide: Protection of the radio equipment from direct weather exposure. A source of adequate and stable primary power. Suitable entrances for antenna, interface or other required cabling. Antenna location that provides an unobstructed transmission path in the direction of the associated station(s). The antenna heights shall be optimized to provide clear line of sight as per design calculations for each link.

These requirements can be quickly determined in most cases.

Radio Cabinet Wireless Communication Equipment comprising of the Radio unit/modem, Ethernet switch, associated cabling etc shall be housed in 19 Equipment cabinet to be installed in the respective WIC Control Room/Equipment room. Equipment racks shall be provided with necessary terminal blocks and cabling facilities for internal and external wiring. Cabinet shall confirm to IP 42 protection. Adequate natural ventilation shall be provided to ensure the internal ambient temperature does not exceed the safe continuous operating temperature of the components located therein. VENDOR shall provide a calculation of heat generated under the worst possible conditions i.e. with all loads energized at maximum ambient temperature Dust filters shall be of the replaceable or cleanable type, and this action shall be possible without disturbing the functions of the cabinet.
