    Wire is 'prepped' by drawing it through a piece of sand paper. 200 or 400 grit works well. File excess wire flush with surface. Mark lightly with a pencil where you want your pique or round silver wire to go. Notice the hammer marks. They can be lifted just by wetting the surface. Serious dents can be fixed by putting a wet wash cloth over the surface and applying heat from an iron.
