Introduction

In this project, I updated the Online Giving Platform analysis conducted by David Koken. David conducted phone interviews for additional online giving platforms. My list included Davids original work, Social Actions wiki page (http://wiki.socialactio %20Action%20Sources) and individual work . I sorted through the Social Actions wiki page, and found many sites that wer platforms, and analyzed their use, type, and offering. Additional information on the organizations not used can be found in The researcher (Anisha Singh) stresses the fact that the categorization of organizations as online giving platforms was fairly of experience of the researcher.

Important Notes on Using the Database 1. This database was created using Microsoft Excel 2010 - it will behave optimally with a version of excel from a similar year. Apparently defunct organizations The organizations below are from the "Original" data set, highlighted in green. In order to ensure that they did not exist, I typed their addresses into the address bar. In addition, I conducted a Google search of each of their names. Three scenarios occurred with these websites. - Scenario 1: There was no information available about this organization. The domain name was for sale. - Scenario 2: The organization had posted a website, explaining that it was not functioning. - Scenario 3: The web searches brought the researcher to completely different websites, which had nothing to do with social actions. These are not included in the final platform list.

The second half of the project was conducted by Anisha Singh. Due volume of potential online donor platfors and time constraints, Ms. Singh relied primarily upon informatoin avail the organizations' websites.
