Roadway Project on State Road (SR) A1A/Collins Avenue

SR A1A/Collins Avenue from 5 Street to Lincoln Road Project Identification Numbers: 250236-1-52-01 and 250236-3-52-01
ESTIMATED COST OF PROJECT $ 2,418,922 PROJECT DATES Construction is expected to begin in May 2013 and last about 240 days. POSSIBLE EFFECTS DURING CONSTRUCTION Temporary lane closures during nonrush hours will have a minimal effect on traffic Temporary sidewalk closures MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on drivers, local residents and businesses. Driveways and entrances to businesses and homes will stay open at all times. Any driveway work will be coordinated with each property owner and done at a mutually convenient time.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is developing the design for a roadway project along SR A1A/Collins Avenue from 5 Street to Lincoln Road in the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County. PROJECT DETAILS: Repaving and restriping the road Widening the lanes between 15 Street and 16 Street Reconstructing sidewalks Upgrading signage, including electronic signs at 17 street and at Lincoln Road Upgrading pedestrian ramps, countdown pedestrian signals and crosswalks Upgrading drainage Relocating utilities, if necessary Reducing parking width and travel lanes to provide an exclusive left turn lane throughout the road Installing sidewalk curb extensions at each intersection Upgrading lighting In order to offer you the opportunity to review the design of this project and answer your questions, we invite you to join us:

The meeting will follow an informal format that allows the public to arrive at any time from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graphic displays will be shown at this meeting, and FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the projects and answer questions. Your participation is encouraged and will give us the opportunity to listen to your comments and address any concern that you may have.
