This Generation Shall Not Pass Away Until All These Things Be Fulfilled

Get the audio

We were in Matthew 24 last time. We covered a little over half of the

chapter. While we had several chapters, I dwelled upon what the fowl of the
air are. I'm going to hit those last 2 verses so we can tie it in with what we
are talking about today. Today, the title I am giving it is 'this generation will
not pass away until all these things be fulfilled.' I hope to be able to give you
an understanding of what that means. Many, many people look at that and
think that everything that Christ talks about in Matthew 24 was fulfilled in
that generation in which he lived. That is the fruit of not understanding what
the word of God is.

Matthew 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side,
and the fowls came and devoured them up:

Matthew 13:19 explains that.

Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and
understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away
that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the
way side.

The fowl of the air are a representation for the wicked one in spiritual
language. This is not something that is just true right here and not true in
another parable or not true somewhere else. Whenever, throughout scripture
from Genesis to Revelation, whenever you see this phrase 'fowl of the air'
you are talking primarily about the wicked one. Unless, it is the dove that
descended on Christ representing the Holy Spirit is delineated, then you
know that this is the wicked one.

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down
from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his
glory.

The things that are written in the book of Revelation are primarily about
what we go through under the influence of that wicked one. When we come
to see all of the things that we are coming to see, this is that angel coming
down and revealing and opening our eyes to see these things that are
behind all of these symbols and parables that are throughout the Bible.

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,

Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of
devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean
and hateful bird.

Babylon is the fallen church. The fallen church is full of foul spirits, it is a
cage for every unclean and hateful bird. When you see the word eagle
(vulture), you know what it is talking about.

Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall

the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the
stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the
Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they
shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other.

God has elect in every nation, language, tongue and people. When he
gathers them together, where's he going to gather them to? He's gathering
them to himself and he is everywhere. What does it mean to gather his
people together? It means that he is going to put them in a position of
rulership on this earth. They are going to all be of one mind, which they
already are in Christ, ruling the earth. The body of Christ that rules in
Europe will have no contention or bone to pick with the body of Christ ruling
anywhere else in the world.

Refer back to verse 29: This is not talking about God's elect. It is … let me
say this first, you will experience Christ coming into your life, it will happen
in a time that you don't expect it. It will actually happen when you have
given up on yourself, it will happen while you are feeding the hogs out in the
field after you have blown your substance. It will happen when you give up
on your flesh. What is being said here?

Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath
and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the
sinners thereof out of it.

You know 'gather the tares first and burn them.' Does that sound like a
secret rapture where the righteous are snatched out first? No, that's not
what Christ taught, that's not what Isaiah taught, that's not what anyone
ever taught in scripture. Gather the tares, burn them first and take the
sinners out of the land. That's what will be done to you and me inwardly, and
will be done outwardly when Christ comes back to rule this physical earth in
a physical way. Listen to the next verse:
Isaiah 13:10-11 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof
shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth,
and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the
world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause
the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of
the terrible.

'The moon shall not cause her light to shine' is the explanation of 'the moon
will be turned into blood.' I don't think you will have any doubt about that
when I get through. That whole prophecy originates in Isaiah. The world is
the church and God is going to punish those who have been given his word
and who refuse to accept it, but they call him Lord.

Isaiah 13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a
man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

Ophir is a part of southeastern Arabia where they have found gold. Gold is
always, no matter how much of it you find, it is never going to be plentiful.
Gold is something you have to dig for, you have to smelt it and it is a rare,
expensive, rare metal. You can apply that inwardly, outwardly, future, past,
in spirit, that will always be true.

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall
remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the
day of his fierce anger.

If God is going to shake the heavens, what is he going to do? How do you
shake the heavens? The heavens are where spiritual things take place. The
wrestling is taking place in our hearts and minds.

Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun
ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in
Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Why would the sun be ashamed? If the sun is light and Christ, why would it
be ashamed? Because Jesus Christ has to be killed within us, we have to slay
Jesus Christ, we have to recognize that we slay Jesus Christ. If we think that
refers to someone else, then you don't know yourself.

Joel 2:28-31 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out
my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see
visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those
days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens
and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be
turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and
terrible day of the LORD come.

The moon and the earth are one in the same. They have no light of their
own, they reflect light from the sun and when there is no light coming from
the sun, they are totally without light. When did it happen? When is it going
to happen?

Acts 2:17-20 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will
pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old
men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens
I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And
I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath;
blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into
darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of
the Lord come:

Peter goes on to say that this is that which is spoken of by the prophet Joel
(Acts 2:16). Ask yourself: Where was the sun turned into darkness and the
moon turned into blood on the day of Pentecost? These people had come to
the point of repentance, 3000 people were added to Christ. They came to
see their blindness. They came to see that the sun had been turned into
darkness. They understood that they had miserably failed in their service to
God when they slew Christ days before. This is the same people that did it.

Why is it that Peter would say this did happen?

Revelation 6:12-17 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal,
and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as
sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of
heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs,
when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a
scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were
moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great
men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men,
and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens
and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and
rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the
throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath
is come; and who shall be able to stand?
This is after 70 AD. Let's not worry about what people believe, let's try to
understand what the Bible actually says. It should be easy to see that when
Christ says ' This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled,'
there is something behind that statement that wasn't fulfilled right then.
John says at the beginning of the book of Revelation, this is a book about
things that must happen quickly. It is not talking about something that will
happen at the end of this age. This is something that will happen quickly for
he that has an ear. That's who it is for.

Is the sun being turned into darkness and the moon into blood 2 separate
events? No. It is one and the same.

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof
shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth,
and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

If there is no light from the sun, there's not going to be any for the moon to
reflect, or the earth. There is no light. What is the moon?

Genesis 37:9-10 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his
brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and,
behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to
me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father
rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast
dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow
down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Who is your mother? The church, Jerusalem above is the mother of us all.
There is a Jerusalem that is of the bondwoman and a Jerusalem of the free
woman; one is a harlot and the other is the bride of Christ.

One of the highest and hardest mountains you will ever have to climb is to
stand up and say I'm going to rule over my brothers. Nobody wants to say
that, it makes them look elitest. Who wants to be thought of as a snob? The
ones that are willing to admit that there is an elite are those who are already
humbled by God.

Joseph could have kept his mouth shut about his dreams and about what his
brothers were doing to his father's flocks and he would have been accepted.
He stood out like a sore thumb and everybody came down on him, even is
his own dad. Esau and Joseph's brothers are the ones who bow down to
God's elect. Esau and his brothers are what the book of Revelation calls the
synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but
thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are
Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan,

which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make
them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have
loved thee.

This is hailing back to Genesis 37. That's what this is talking about in
Revelation 2 and 3. Joseph is a type of Christ. Those that are in Christ will be
with Christ at that time.

What is the moon will be turned into blood?

Genesis 4:10-11 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy
brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou
cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy
brother's blood from thy hand;

That begins to give us some idea of what blood is all about.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be
shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Christ is saying the same thing in Matthew 26:52.

Matthew 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into
his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

God's word will destroy, cause to perish, all those who feel the need to take
up a physical sword. The second sword is the word of God.

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in
the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them
to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

God's elect, down through history, have this power. They turn waters into
blood and they torment them that dwell on the earth.

Revelation 16:3-4 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the
sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul
died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers
and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
When living souls die, the spirit will be saved. '… turn them over to Satan for
the destruction of the flesh that the spirit might be saved in the day of the
Lord.' No talk anywhere in scripture about eternal torment.

Is this 2 different bloods talking about 2 different things? I don't think so.
The blood of Christ cleanses us of our sins, but it had to be shed to do that.
To shed Christ's blood took violence and sin all because God predestined it
that way.

Revelation 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

So, the blood on the earth is blood to drink and you can't drink blood. God
says don't drink the blood. What is the drinking of blood?

Exodus 4:9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these
two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the
water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which
thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

That's God telling Moses what he is going to do when he gets down there.
Chapter 7, he's actually doing it.

Exodus 7:17 Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the
LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the
waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

What does that accomplish? What did Moses accomplish when he did that?

Exodus 7:19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take
thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon
their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all
their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may
be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and
in vessels of stone.

Egypt is just Babylon at an earlier date. Egypt has God's people captive,
won't let them go, they have got to come out. This is all being played out in
an earlier part of our walk. The same thing will happen again and has to
happen in each person as they come along in Christ. All of these symbols are
all the same thing. The effect of not being able to drink the water that comes
out of the ponds and the fountains of waters, the Nile into blood that can't
be assimilated, is to bring on starvation. We are not talking about literal
blood. What we are talking about is what those things stand for. All
throughout the Bible, the waters that bring forth life and produce life,
represent the word of God in our lives. God's word is rivers of water coming
forth out of our belly. When those waters, the word of God, is turned into
blood that you cannot use, there is a famine of God's word.

Revelation 8:10-11 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great
star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third
part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of
the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became
wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were
made bitter.

The water is the word of God, Christ says when the light in you has become
darkness, how great is that darkness. The light is the word of God.

Revelation 16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers
and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

Amos 8:11 explains it all.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send
a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but
of hearing the words of the LORD:

The sun is darkened, the moon is turned into blood and God's word is just
not there.

Getting back to Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:32-35 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch
is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near,
even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass,
till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but
my words shall not pass away.

If those last words were right, how can anyone read the verse before and
say that this all applied back in 70 AD? The only way that it cannot be a flat-
out contradiction is to understand Revelation 1:3 and 22:7.
