Thanks for your prayers Monday! God showed up and really stirred some hearts. Our theme at club has been The Real You: self-image, self-worth, and individuality. Last night we ended the series by dumping trash on the Floor, giving a visual representation of how our lives feel sometimes. But we are Gods workmanship...we are Gods masterpiece! And God sent Jesus to clean up our trash and accept us for who we are. At the end of the night, we gave each student a personal chance to respond to what was Grade: ________ School: ________________ Name: ______________________________! on their hearts and minds.

kid story - Austin

Austin is a 6th grader at Woodside. I have built a relationship with Austin through school lunches, hanging out at the YMCA, and Monday night clubs. Last night did not start out great for Austin. We played a game involving onions, and Austin started throwing up all over the room, and ran to the bathroom throwing up the whole way down the hall. One of our volunteers, Chris, went with Austin to the bathroom and helped him clean-up. Austin was embarrassed and did not want to come back into the room with his peers, but Chris talked him into joining us. As I read Austins response card from last night, it broke my heart to read what he wrote. He marked a 1 on how he feels about himself. He left the second line blank. He believes God is a loving God, but doesnt love him just the way he is. He feels like God is The Wizard of Oz. At the bottom of his page he marked he wanted more time to think about Jesus, and wasnt quite sure what to think about all this. PRAY for Austin as I intentionally seek him out the next 72 hours. PRAY for Austin to feel Gods love in a mighty way!!
