Calling Proposals for Business for Village Gamata ObinaVyapara Program

National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) promotes, supports, encourages and facilitate enterprise development within Sri Lanka with special emphasis to Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Sector of the country. It provides services such as entrepreneurship development, financial facilitation, marketing linkages, Research & Development and Infrastructure development to entrepreneurs and Business Development Service Providers. Program: NEDA has planned to promote SME sector especially in regional areas of the country and it is named as Gamata Obina Vyapara to promote businesses for village. This program consists in three major components: 1. 2. 3. Identification of Competitive Businesses, Business sectors and issues Selection of entrepreneurs and develop them as successful businessman Coordinate implementation of sector development proposals suggested by the first component of the program.

NEDA wishes to call proposal from organizations to carry out above 1 & 2 components of the program. Component - 01 Identifies Competitive Business Opportunities in a given geographical area and investigate the possibilities to link them with internal and external markets by applying tools such as Local Competitive Advantage (LOCA) and Value Chain which are methodologies used for such purposes. Proposals are called for conducting this component of the program in Anuradhapura, Hambanthota & Ampara Districts. Component - 02 NEDA already completed Component 1 exercise for Mannar, Kurunegala, Kandy and Batticloa Districts. Soon, it will be completed for Anuradhapura, Hambantota & Ampara Districts. Component 2 is to identify prospective and existing entrepreneurs, develop their entrepreneurial skills to introduce competitive business opportunities identified in the Component 1. The Service Provider should be in the field and implement this component for 1 year period and need to recruit full time field officer for follow up. 120 SMEs should be developed in 6 districts on the basis of 20 SMEs per District. Note: - TOR could be obtained from NEDA Office on a week day between 8.30 am to 4.15 pm. And also down load from www.neda.lk - If you wish to apply for two or more components/activities, separate proposals are required. - Proposals should be submitted in person to the tender box or send by registered post on or before 28th June 2011 by 2.00 pm. Calling Proposals for District Business Trade fairs - 2011 National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) promotes supports, encourages and facilitate enterprise development within Sri Lanka with special emphasis to Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector of the country. It is providing services such as entrepreneurship development, financial facilitation marketing linkages research & development and infrastructure development to entrepreneurs and Business Development Service providers. Program: NEDA has planed to carry out Regional Business Development Service Promotion Trade Fairs to encourage SME sectors for accessing Business Development Services especially in regional areas of the Country. Objectives: 1. Bridge the gap between Business Development Service (BDS) providers and Small & Medium scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs) 2. Develop business network for the SME development 3. Promote products of Small & Medium Entrepreneurs in the region and facilitate market linkages Program Area: Batticaloa, Mannar, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura & Batticaloa Districts and conducted during year 2011 NEDA wishes to call proposal from exhibition Event Organizers to carry out this program and information should be included in the proposal as given bellow Introduction of the organization & Capacities Past experience Method and strategies Number of stalls (BDS Providers of Government, Non government and Private, Cooperatives, Development projects etc.) Budget (Sponsorship, income, expenditure and contribution of NEDA if required)

Proposals should be submitted in person to the tender box or send by registered post on or before 28th June 2011 by 2.00 pm. Please indicate the District applying for on the left side of the envelop and separate proposals should be send for each District if you are applying for more than one district.
