impressive 25 years as a pioneer in the CCTV industry.

For a quarter of a century
Dedicated Micros has stayed at
the very forefront of video
management technology. Key
innovations such as the invention
of the first commercially available
CCTV Video Multiplexer has

Dedicated Micros offers a range of
developers tools, including a
comprehensive JAVA-based SDK and the
PowerScript application. Since the
technology is based on standard
client/server protocols, you are able to
call upon a wealth of commercially-
available development talent without
having to invest in costly training
programmes for proprietary packages.
Dedicated Micros PowerScript
application extends the functionality of
NetVu Connected DVR’s allowing them
to integrate into other systems. The
PowerScript feature uses the C
programming language to allow installers
and system integrators to implement and
develop scripts to enable customer
specific applications to be created.
Utilising PowerScript, a NetVu
Connected DVR can integrate into a BMS
(Building Management System) or other
Security Solution (such as Access
Control) to enable central control,
monitoring and notification on alarm of a
multitude of functions - for example
humidity or temperature levels in Server
rooms or Storage / Freezer rooms can
be monitored via the DVR in conjunction
with associated video footage from the

TransCoding
All NetVu Connected products
containing the unique TransCoding
technology provide MPEG-4
transmission of either the recorded or
live video, independent of how the
video has been recorded, ensuring that
remote operators can view fast update
images of the best quality even over
limited bandwidth links.
NON-PC OPERATING
SYSTEM
All Dedicated Micros DVRs have an
embedded, non-PC operating system.
This means that the end-user will
encounter none of the problems
traditionally associated with PCs. The
DVR won’t hang or crash and is immune
from computer virus attacks even if it’s
connected to a local or wide area
network.
BS 8418 COMPLIANT
With central stations often billing by the
alarm response, it’s in everyone’s
interest to minimise the number of false
alarms generated by CCTV. BS 8418
compliant features included in the
Dedicated Micros product range include
false alarm management, tamper-proof
alarm handling, an alternative signaling
path, fault tolerance and comprehensive
logs.

any disruption to recording or system
operation.
RAID 1 PROTECTION
For applications where evidence needs
high levels of protection, the RAID 1
mirroring ensures that all data has an
identical back-up copy that can be used
in the unlikely event of disk failure.
By scheduling regular “hot-swap” of
mirrored drives, end-users can create
continuous archives of unlimited capacity.
The BX2 range also includes standard
models without hot swappable disks but
includes features such as advanced
record schedule, built-in DVD Writer,

JBOD
JBOD is a high capacity external hard
disk option that simply provides
additional storage capabilities for all
DVRs and servers in the Dedicated
Micros range. When you connect one or
more JBOD devices, DM DVRs
automatically detect the available
capacities seeing them as one large
storage space, so playback, search and
archiving facilities function as normal.
JBOD units currently have a maximum
hard disk capacity of 1TB.
Applicable products: DS2, BX2,
BX2CA, DVIP Server. RAID
RAID units function in much the same
way as the JBOD units, but have built-in
redundancy to ensure video footage
remains in tact even in the unlikely event
of disk failure. Disks and power supplies
may also be hotswapped without
affecting recording. RAID units are

A powerful application, the TransVu
Media feature allows advertising or
customer information to be shown to
commuters using additional Spot monitor
outputs from the TransVu unit. The
messaging can be location specific,
