40 individual permanent shelters for underserved women with children Supportive housing for at-risk women and children Primary school serving 300 children from the local community Vocational school and education programs Maternal and Infant Health clinic with pharmacy
Design Objectives: Architecture will be designed as a holistic system for growth and education integrating efficient infrastructure, nurturing environments, and learning spaces that are participatory within the landscape and gardens. The vocational school will integrate farming land for fruits and vegetables, green houses, rainwater harnessing, renewable energy, sustainable construction, arts and crafts and long term development opportunities for micro economies.
GlassFrog
Village Tournesol is a critical, long-term step in ensuring that Haitians have the infrastructure they need to move past the heartbreaking situation they have found themselves in. In the short term, a partnership with GlassFrog will address the immediate needs of the future inhabitants of Village Tournesol. During the two year Village Tournesol construction period, GlassFrog will work to give the citizens of Jacmel access to basic necessities, including transitionary shelters that will protect them and their families from the elements and give them their own space- a space they can take pride in and find comfort in. It is also critical that the future residents of Village Tournesol have access to clean water to prevent another devastating outbreak of cholera. GlassFrog will provide industrial water tanks to meet this need. We will employ local resources to ensure long term, sustainable benefits to Jacmel. During the first stage of implementation of our Village Tournesol partner project, we anticipate creating 15 jobs. After program implementation, we will provide a full report to GlassFrog stakeholders on the outcomes, including photos, facts and figures, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and accountability.

addressing the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. The link between the vast availability of human resources and provisions versus tangible progress in relief and development goals were indiscernible during our time on the ground in Port-au-Prince. We do not deny that progress in responding to the magnitude of such a disaster was hindered by the devastating setbacks in human life and infrastructure, yet we are hesitant to accept that we are exhausting our full potential as a global community.
GlassFrog is supported by a team of dedicated professionals who are ready to m ake a change. Each teammates passion and unique experiences make GlassFrog a powerful organization.
