Thanksgiving, praise and worship; Romans 12 vl; I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that you

present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Praise and worship is a development of a basic and real experience we have with God, Jesus saves us; we are grateful. We express gratitude by saying thanks. This is the starting point of praise and worship of God. Gratitude and thanksgiving should be part of our nature but this is not always the case, Luke 17 vl3-18; " Has anyone recently received a blessing from God that deserves a thank you, or a little praise ? We are told that in Scripture some 555 times to praise or worship God and some of this motivation comes from Psalm 141vl-9; Vl; God exhorts us to praise. V2a. We praise Him for what He has done. V2b. To be grateful is to experience an inner appreciation, to experience a deep feeling of thankfulness in the heart. To show thankfulness is to express it through words of thanks and praise fitting to the blessings received. In the Spirit filled believer, these 'words of thanks' should develop into real worship of God. Psalm 107 vl-2; 0 give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever. A poor understanding of God results in apathetic worship and a lack of desire to meditate on the Scriptures. About fifty times in Scripture the words praise and worship mean, reverence, adoration, kneeling with outstretched hands, prostrate before God. Blessing God comes into this category also.
