ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS Timmings

Requirements

The Ministry will only attest documents in Urdu and / or English. Documents or its translated version in any other language other than English will not be attested henceforth. Applicants may get their attested documents translated from the Translation Centres, recognized by the concerned diplomatic Mission, in Islamabad and submit directly to the Embassies. Documents of permanent nature i.e. Birth / Death Certificates. Marriage Certificates, Educational Certificates and all documents issued by NADRA, once attested, will remain valid forever and hence will not be re-attested. Attestation by the Camp Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi, Specimen stamps and authorized signatures of which are provided to all Missions in routine, has the same weightage and authenticity as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad and hence, will not be re-attested. Clarification in this regard, if any may be sought from the Assistant Director (Cons-II). Ph. No. 9207895 and 9056524. The Ministry would appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all the diplomatic Mission in Islamabad.

The Nikah nama and its translation should be attested by a magistrate class 1 / civil judge of his/ her native town or any gazetted officer of government of Pakistan. The birth certificate and its translation should be attested by a magistrate class 1 / civil judge of his/ her native town or any gazetted officer of government of Pakistan Photocopy or translation of any document will be attested when original document is present Death Certificate should be attested by Magistrate 1st Class of his / her native township In case of Foreign Female National, NOC for contract of marriage should be issued by her concerned Embassy / Consulate in Pakistan

Consular Services Provided


Consular-II Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deals with attestation and authentication of: All documents issued by various authorities of central, provincial and local government which are intended to be used abroad or submitted in Foreign missions at Islamabad . All documents verified/attested by our foreign missions which are intended to be used inside Pakistan . The Ministry does not attest the genuineness of the document itself. It only countersigns the attestation made by other authorities like the educational certificates which have to be attested by Ministry of Education. This Ministry thus, verifies the signature of the Ministry of Education. The list of requirements for different documents is placed below:

Seal of Nikah Registrar; copy may be issued by concerned Secretary Union Council or Chief Officer or Tehsil Municipal Officer or Executive Officer of Cant Board. Experience All the documents have first to be attested by the Certificate = Ministry of Health. The MBBS degree has to be Rs. 5 attested by HEC.

The applicant himself or his blood relatives can submit the documents in the Consular Section. The person presenting the documents on behalf of his relative is required to show his/her original ID card/Passport/Driving License/University Card/School Card/Domicile/Office Card or any of his valid ID. If no blood relative of the applicant is residing in Pakistan , the applicant is required to give an authority letter duly signed by our Mission abroad to the authorized person to be brought at the counter alongwith his documents. The documents needing attestations can be submitted at consular office window from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the working days i.e. Monday-Saturday except Friday. Official timing for Friday is 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The attested documents are returned to the applicants after two hours of submission of documents. The following documents in original as well as the copies of these documents are not attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because they do not fall under the purview of the Ministry. The documents are: Passports Domicile ID card Documents related to immoveable property (i.e Registries of Land)
