We used this article from the Seattle Times to better understand the public opinion on the topic of a free trade agreement in 1991. Even in 1991, the public opinion was that a free trade agreement would hinder the prevention of illegal Mexican immigration by loosening border security too much, and that it would not significantly boost the Mexican economy. This was three years before the free trade agreement was passed, which evolved into NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The Illegal Immigration Invasion. Director Byron Jost. October Sun Films. 2005. This 101-minute documentary was composed of interviews of Arizona native citizens, Chris Simcox (Founder of the Civil Homeland Defense and Founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps), and Civil Homeland Defense Volunteers. We used it to better understand the point of view of the ones who are up-andfront with the problem, and living extremely close to the border. The documentary was from a very conservative point of view, likely because those interviewed were the ones who had to deal with the downsides of illegal immigration, namely being replaced by cheap labor and property destruction.

Secondary sources
"Basic Facts about Immigration." Affirmative Action and Diversity Page. N.p., n.d. Web. 9 Oct. 2010. http://aad.english.ucsb.edu/basicfacts.html. This source was a great source it gave us a lot of information. The information was exactly how many undocumented Mexican immigrants where in the U.S in March, of 2006. There were exactly 11.5 to 12 million Mexican immigrants in the U.S. It also told me the percentage of the jobs that Mexican immigrants have. It was including 24% of all workers employed in farming jobs, 17% in cleaning, 36% in insulation installation, 29% in roofing and drywall installation, 27% of butchers and other food processing. All of this information is from March of 2006. "Immigration...Mexican: Introduction." American Memory from the Library of Congress - Home Page. N.p., 20 Apr. 2005. Web. 8 Oct. 2010. http://memory.loc.gov/learn//features/immig/mexican.html. This secondary source was great for getting information. It gave us information stating that most Mexican immigrants have come to the U.S during the 21st century. It also said that most of the reasons of people immigrating to the U.S are because of wars and depressions. An example of one of these would be the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and the Gadsden Purchase. This website also gave me a picture. This picture was a picture of four Mexican women and a young boy that were waiting to get into the U.S.
