Individual work
Individual work is a elaboration activity, where you can develop and apply the knowledge, tools and
skills acquired in the module, through a set of actions or tasks.

Each action or task that is requested of you is related to the Criteria and Indicators proposed to evaluate
the Learning Outcome of the module.

Learning result

Apply the fundamental elements of the written communication situation, using structure, norms and
rules in a formal text.

Contextualization
In this module we review the elements of written communication in terms of norms, rules and structure
of argumentative development. In this work you must apply the conceptual resources of the module
in the personnel selection situation , already indicated in the previous module.
The company “El Lector”, which manufactures notebooks, is looking for a qualified person for an
administrative position in the area of industrial relations, because it will open a new plant in the city of
Arica. To do this, it published the following announcement in national newspapers and on the LinkedIn
platform: “Leading company in the manufacture of notebooks invites you to be part of its industrial
relations area. If you want to join our organization, send us your resume and cover letter to
contacto@ellector.cl .”

As indicated in the previous module, you have already been selected for an interview , the date of
which you still do not know. The Personnel Department has sent you a document that will be sent to
the company's workers once you have made the pertinent corrections; As part of the selection process
, you are asked to analyze the text sent , indicating its relevance, structure and propose
improvements if you consider them necessary.

The text presented by the company is the following:

“We are a company that has been in existence for 20 years in Chile. We were born in the city of
Rancagua as a notebook factory. Its founding partner was Mr. Confucio Librero, along with his
two children, as a way to contribute to education in the city of Rancagua, he founded this
company that employs 200 people, considering the factory and sales points in different cities
between they arica. Its mission is: “Contribute to the education of the country”, due to the
excellent acceptance of the notebooks due to their quality, they have achieved a very good
reputation, especially in the north of Chile in the city of Arica, where they lead the sale of
notebooks. In the last three years the company has had an increase in sales generating profits.
We can make new investments in this new plant but we are clear that we will not neglect
production in the central area because we are aware of the importance of maintaining serving
our already loyal customers. . To begin with, it is good for each of you to be clear about the
importance of your work in the company. We know that you have dedicated several years of
your lives to making the factory what we are today, which is why we inform you that we will
open a plant in Arica.”

Once the exposed case has been reviewed, it is requested to develop the tasks indicated in the
following items, which are related to the criteria and their evaluation indicators.
