SUBJECT 05 WHAT IS THE WORD OF GOD?

Objective: to help children understand the closeness, truthfulness and
wisdom of God's word, through concrete materials.

Materials: a lamp, a mirror, a sword or knife, a map, a bible.

Development: present two boxes identical in color, shape, size, form etc.,
say that the two boxes contain the same thing, the children will take the
box and move it and see if it weighs the same or the content of the box is
the same, giving only the clues, that the two boxes contain the same
thing. One contains (the bible) the other contains all of the above
materials. When almost all the hypotheses are exhausted, we open the
box containing all the materials: we describe them and see what they are
for; we proceed to open the second box, the one containing the bible.
They will say that the clue we gave them was false: the contents of one
box is not the same as the contents of the other, we will start looking in
the bible for verses that indicate that the word of God is a lamp, mirror,
sword, etc.

Verses Ps 119:105; Jas 1:23; Eph 6:17; Ps 139:34.

Conclusion: the two boxes contain the same symbolically.
