Scraper
A. Introduction This is a kind of engineer equipment. Engineer scrapers are extremely hard cutting tools which have either one, two or three cutting edges. When a cutting edge is pressed againt a surface and given a very short movement, the scraper removes a very small shaving of metal. Any type of scrapers called, it is used to correct slight errors on flat or curved surfaces that must be finished more accurately. Scrapers are used to produce a high degree of fit between two flat or two curved surfaces particularly where the surfaces can rub together in use. After a surface is filed or machined as accurately as possible, it can be futher improved by rough scraping, after which finish scraping is employed. Accurate scraping is used only to remove minute amounts of material. It is essential that the cutting of a scraper be carefully tempered, uniform and free from defects. In addition, the cutting edge must be keen, hard and durable. This requires careful grid followed by honing on a suitable abrasive stone. B. Types of Scrapers Types of scrapers consist of 1. Mini Scraper (NG3700) This scraper ideals for tool and die makers. :
