SUBJECT: EADS TETRA RADIO KIT P/N 3G2310A02511, INSTALLATION OF.

REASON: provide AB139/AW139 helicopters with a digital Professional Mobile Radio based on TETRA technology.

HELICOPTERS AFFECTED: all AB139/AW139 helicopters from S/N 31005 to S/N 31157 (except S/N 31007) and from S/N 41001 to S/N 41023.

COMPLIANCE: at customers option.

DESCRIPTION: this Bollettino Tecnico has been issued to provide all necessary instructions for embodying into the A/C the structural and electrical provisions and complete installation for EADS TETRA hand portable radio. The Professional Mobile Radio THR880i enables professional organizations responsible for public safety to communicate together effectively, reliably and securely. Key features of this Professional Mobile Radio include: Two-sided design (Phone interface and Radio interface); High resolution color display; Water and dust resistant, protected against shocks;

An appropriate entry should be made in the aircraft log book upon accomplishment. If ownership of aircraft has changed, please, forward to new owner.

Integrated GPS receiver; Voice feedback mode to easily manage groups communication; End-to-end encryption for the highest level of security; Reliable, real time access to graphical information such as maps, pictures of missing people, stolen vehicles etc.

REQUIRED MANPOWER: to comply with this Bollettino Tecnico, approximately forty (40) man hours are deemed necessary. Man-hours are based on hands-on time and can change with personnel and facilities available.

COMPLIANCE INSTRUCTIONS: GENERAL NOTES a) Place an identification tag on all components that are re-usable, including the attaching hardware that has been removed to gain access to the modification area and adequately protect them until their later reuse. b) Shape the cables in order to prevent interference with the structure and the other existing installations, using where necessary suitable lacing cords. c) Exercise extreme care during drilling operations to prevent instruments, cables and hosing damage. d) After drilling, remove all swarf and sharp edges. Apply on bare metal a light film of primer unless the hole is used for ground connection. e) During the installation of bonding braids or components requiring grounding, clean the surface structure in order to obtain a good ground contact. f) Use aliphatic nafta to degrease. Cleaned

surfaces shall be allowed to air dry for at least 30 minutes before bonding.

Part I: 1. In accordance with AMP DM 39-A-00-20-00-00A-120A-A prepare the helicopter for safe ground maintenance. Disconnect the battery and all the electrical power sources and/or the external power supply.

2. In accordance with AMP DM 39-A-25-21-01-00A-520A-K or DM 39-A-25-22-0100A-520A-K remove passenger seats. 3. In accordance with AMP DM 39-A-06-41-00-00A-010A-A remove cabin floor panels 142AR, 152AR, 140BL, 150BL, 141AL and 151AL and cabin roof panel 150DT. 4. Remove lateral panels from interseat console. 5. Remove interior lining from LH crew door post. 6. With reference to Figures 1 thru 4 install EADS Tetra Radio structural provision P/N 3G5310A42411, as described in the following procedure: 6.1 With reference to Figure 1 View D gain access to nose bulkhead at STA 1070 and mark position of four inserts for the Universal Radio Interface (URI). 6.2 With reference to Figure 2 Section E-E drill four 2.5 mm pilot holes through the bulkhead top skin. Enlarge holes to 14.25 to 14.38 mm diameter through the top skin and honeycomb core. Do not drill through the bottom skin. 6.3 Undercut honeycomb core a minimum of 6.35 mm. 6.4 With reference to Figure 2 Section E-E and in accordance with ASRP DM 39A-51-42-01-00A-720A-A install four inserts P/N A813A3CM using EA934NA adhesive (C054). NOTE Let adhesive cure at room temperature for at least 24 hours or, as alternative, at 8088C for 60 minutes. 6.5 With reference to Figure 2 Detail F mark the position of two inserts on LH nose panel at BL 275.00. 6.6 Drill two 2.5 mm pilot holes through the bulkhead top skin. Enlarge holes to 11.25 to 11.38 mm diameter through the panel top skin and honeycomb core. Do not drill through the bottom skin. 6.7 Undercut honeycomb core a minimum of 6.35 mm. 6.8 With reference to Figure 2 Section G-G and in accordance with ASRP DM 39-A-51-42-01-00A-720A-A install two inserts P/N A813A06CM using EA934NA adhesive (C054). 6.9 With reference to Figure 3 View H remove blank panel P/N 999-0500-85-361, from the interseat console mobile rack. 6.10 Install Support Assy P/N 3G5315A94531 in lieu of the blank panel previously removed. 6.11 With reference to Figure 3 View H remove plate assembly P/N 999-0500-85137 from the interseat console mobile rack and rework as follows: 6.11.1 With reference to Figure 3 Detail L drill a 2.5 mm pilot hole in the center of plate assembly. Gradually enlarge hole to 25 mm diameter. 6.11.2 Clean hole edges and protect bare metal with epoxy primer (C042). 6.12 Re-install reworked plate assembly on the interseat console mobile rack. 6.13 With reference to Figure 4 Detail B gain access to A/C bottom LH side at STA 5050.00 and mark position of inserts for antenna and center hole. 6.14 With reference to Figure 4 Detail B drill three 2.5 mm pilot holes through bottom skin. 6.15 Enlarge holes to 14.25 to 14.38 mm diameter through bottom skin and honeycomb, for a depth of 10 mm. 6.16 Undercut honeycomb core to a minimum of 6.35 mm. 6.17 With reference to Figure 4 Section C-C and in accordance with ASRP DM 39-A-51-42-01-00A-720A-A install three inserts P/N NAS1832-3-3 using EA934NA adhesive (C054). 6.18 Drill a 2.5 mm pilot hole at STA 5050.0, BL 755.0 through panel skins and honeycomb. 6.19 Enlarge hole up to 20.00 mm diameter. 6.20 Undercut honeycomb core for 3.00 mm all around hole edge. 6.21 Fill exposed honeycomb with a 3.0 mm-thick layer of EA934NA adhesive (C054) all around hole edge. 7. With reference to Figures 5 thru 11 install EADS Tetra Radio electrical provision P/N 3G2310A02611, as described in the following procedure: 7.1 With reference to Figure 8 View A and Figure 11 View B-B and in accordance with AMP DM-39-A-20-10-09-00A-920A-A install at indicated locations (LH side of interseat console) three standoffs P/N A388A3E08C by means of adhesive EA9309NA (C231) and the Pressure Application Fixture (PAF).

NOTE Let adhesive to cure at room temperature for at least 24 hours or, as alternative, at 6071C for 60 minutes. 7.2 With reference to Figure 8 View A, Figure 9 and Figure 11 Detail D, bond at indicated locations six supports P/N A630A51 in the interseat console using adhesive EA956 (C193). Let adhesive cure properly. 7.3 With reference to Figure 8 View A drill one 4.9 mm diameter hole on interseat console at STA 1345, WL 1270 and install one ground stud P/N A363A01 using two rivets P/N MS20426AD3A. Apply decal P/N ED300GS72 in an adjacent area. 7.4 With reference to Figure 10 and table of Figure 6 and in accordance with AMP DM-39-A-20-10-09-00A-920A-A, install in indicated locations seven studs P/N A366A3E32C using adhesive EA9309NA (C231) and the Pressure Application Fixture (PAF). 7.5 With reference to Figure 10 and table of Figure 6 bond in indicated locations four supports P/N A630A51 using adhesive EA956 (C193). 7.6 With reference to Figure 10 and table of Figure 6 install three supports P/N MS3340-1-9 in indicated locations using three rivets P/N MS20470AD4-3. 7.7 With reference to Figure 10 drill one 4.9 mm diameter hole on frame at STA 3120, BL 150 and install one ground stud P/N A363A01 using two rivets P/N MS20426AD3A. Apply decal P/N ED300GS73 in an adjacent area. 7.8 With reference to Figure 5 and Figures 7 thru 11 lay down the following cable assemblies from nose area to cabin floor aft at STA 4800, following existing routes as indicated: P/N 3G9B01A06601, EADS Tetra Radio Cable Assy (B1A66) P/N 3G9B02A17001, EADS Tetra Radio Cable Assy (B2A170) P/N 3G9B02B19701, EADS Tetra Radio Cable Assy (B2B197) P/N 3G9C03A02701, EADS Tetra Radio Cable Assy (C3A27) NOTE Use edging P/N A236A on edges which are liable to cause damage.

NOTE Use sleeve P/N A582A25 where protection against chafing is required and where contact with structure may occur. 8 With reference to Figures 12 thru 18 perform the electrical installation of EADS Tetra Radio P/N 3G2310A02711 and complete electrical connection of cable assemblies, as described in the following procedure:With reference to Figure 12 and Figure 13 Section B-B, on nose bulkhead at STA 1070, install the Universal Radio Interface (URI) P/N AA34-300 using four screws P/N MS35207-206 and four washers P/N NAS1149D0332J. Install decal P/N ED300A255 in an adjacent area. NOTE As per following step 8.2, be careful to install the Power Supply P/N VI-L11-1W with heat dissipater facing the interseat console structure. 8.2 With reference to Figure 13 and Figure 14 View A install at LH side of interseat console the Converter Power Supply P/N VI-L11-1W using the shown fastening hardware. Install decal P/N ED300PS41 in an adjacent area. 8.3 With reference to Figure 4 and Figure 16 install antenna P/N 21-174 on the A/C bottom, as follows: 8.3.1 With reference to Figure 4 Detail D clean and degrease the indicated area using a lint-free cloth soaked with aliphatic nafta. 8.3.2 Sand the area with a 240 grit grade abrasive paper. NOTE Before installation of antenna as per following step apply a fillet of sealant NAFTOSEAL PR1440 inside screw holes and connector hole of the honeycomb panel, inside screw holes of the antenna and around the threads and under the heads of the installation screws. Make sure that sealant does not flow onto

RF gasket faces as it is important that the gasket maintain a good contact on both faces. 8.3.3 With reference to Figure 16 View F assemble the RF gasket P/N 6930A/21-174 into the antenna and install both on the A/C bottom, using three screws P/N MS27039C1-10. 8.3.4 Tighten screws and allow the sealant in the assembly to flow for two minutes then tighten screws to final torque of 1.36 to 1.69 Nm. 8.3.5 Install the antenna coaxial connector of the Tetra Radio Coax Cable assy (C3A27) 8.3.6 Apply a fillet of sealant NAFTOSEAL PR1440 all around the antenna. 8.3.7 Apply one coat of Epoxy primer (C042) on all exposed surfaces. 8.3.8 Apply decal P/N ED300E58 in an adjacent area to the antenna connector. 8.4 With reference to Figure 15 install the Tetra Radio HFU-2T Unit and relevant MKU-1 mounting base underneath support assy P/N 3G5315A94531 using the fastening hardware provided with the Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE). 8.5 With reference to Figure 15 install the Tetra Radio MCR-3 Holder and relevant HHS-14 mounting base on top of support assy P/N 3G5315A94531 using the fastening hardware provided with the CFE. Be sure that mounting base is installed opposite to direction of flight. 8.6 With reference to Figure 7, Figure 13 Section B-B and Figure 17 Wiring Diagram perform electrical connections of C/A B2B197 between Pilot Modular Radio Cabinet MRC-855 connectors A8-6P1 and A8-6P3 and sectioning connector P20. NOTE For A/C already equipped with DF system, wire R2244B22-S from pin 86 of A8-6P3 connector of Pilot Modular Radio Cabinet MRC-855 to pin 58 of P20 Connector of interseat console is already installed. 8.7 With reference to Figure 7 and Figure 17 Wiring Diagram perform electrical connections of C/A B2A170 between Universal Radio Interface connector Page 11 of 31

A255P100 and sectioning connector J20. 8.8 With reference to Figure 5 and Figure 17 Wiring Diagram perform electrical connections of C/A B1A66 between Universal Radio Interface connector A255P100 and TB7P1 and between Power Supply PS41 and ground stud GS72 and connector TB7P1. 8.9 With reference to Figure 5 and Figure 17 Wiring Diagram perform electrical connections of C/A B1A66 between C/B overhead connector PL1P7 and Power Supply PS41. 8.10 Protect studs and terminal lugs at Power Supply with heat-shrinkable tube P/N M23053/5-109-0, using hot air gun at approximately 75C. 8.11 With reference to Figure 9 fasten Tetra Radio fasten C/A C3A27, B1BA66 and B2B197 to the interseat console structure using grommets P/N 9991700-03-102 and indicated hardware. 8.12 With reference to Figure 15, Figure 16 Details G and H and Figure 18 Wiring Diagram, rework furnished electrical cables PTT-1 and PCH-4J by joining splices SP1184, SP1185, SP1187 and SP1186 at connectors A256P2 and A256P3. Cut and stow unused wires with caps P/N A583A2610W. 8.13 With reference to Figure 15 and Figure 18 Wiring Diagram perform electrical connection of C/A B1A66 between HFU-2T Unit connectors A256P5 and Power Supply PS41 and ground stud GS73. 8.14 With reference to Figure 15, Figure 16 and Figure 18 Wiring Diagram, perform electrical connection of C/A B2B197 between HFU-2T Unit connectors A256P2, A256P3 and A256P4 and sectioning connector P20. 8.15 With reference to Figure 15, Figure 16 and Figure 18 Wiring Diagram, perform electrical connection between HFU-2T Unit connectors A256P1 and THR880i Radio Unit. 8.16 With reference to Figure 15, Figure 16 and Figure 18 Wiring Diagram, perform electrical connection of C/A C3A27 between A260P1 connector and antenna connector E58P1. 9 Modify the Auxiliary C/B panel on the overhead panel, in accordance with the following procedures: 9.1 With reference to AMP DM 39-A-24-91-04-00A-920-A-A remove from the Page 12 of 31

overhead Auxiliary C/B panel the existing Integrally-lit panel. 9.2 Install one Circuit Breaker P/N MS3320-10 in the position indicated as COM 4 on the new Integrally-lighted panel P/N 3G2490VXXXXX. 9.3 Install decal P/N ED300CB318 in an area adjacent to the Circuit Breaker previously installed on the new integrally-lit panel P/N 3G2490VXXXX. NOTE If necessary the relocation of other CBs and stowage or removal of relevant wires to allow the proper installation of Circuit Breaker P/N MS3320-10 is allowed. NOTE Contact AW139 PSE at least 3 months in advance of embodiment date of this Bollettino Tecnico in order to collect the exact W/D applicable to helicopter configuration. 9.4 Perform electrical connection between pin 2 of CB318 and connector of the auxiliary circuit breaker panel PL1J7 using A556A-T18 wire. Use pin P/N MS25036-149 for pin 2 of CB318 and pin P/N M39029/56-352 for involved pin of connector PL1J7. 9.5 Perform electrical connection between pin 1 of CB318 and 28V DC NON ESS BUS 2 W12A using A556A-T18 wire. Use pin P/N MS25036-149 for pin 1 of CB318 and pin P/N MS25036-103 for 28V DC NON ESS BUS 2 W12A. 10 Make a pin-to-pin continuity check of all installed/modified wiring. 11 In accordance with AMP DM 39-A-06-41-00-00A-010A-A re-install cabin floor panels 142AR, 152AR, 140BL, 150BL, 1411AL and 151AL and cabin roof panel 150DT. 12 Re-install lateral panels of interseat console and interior lining of LH crew door post at STA 3120. 13 In accordance with AMP DM 39-A-25-21-01-00A-520A-K or DM 39-A-25-22-0100A-720A-K re-install passenger seats. 14 In accordance with weight and balance changes, update the Chart A (see Rotorcraft Flight Manual, Part II, Section 6). 15 Return the helicopter to flight configuration and record compliance with this Bollettino Tecnico on A/C log book.
