The Necessary Charter of the Guild of Cardsmen

It is on this day, the fifth of March of the year two thousand and eight Anno Domini, on which those undersigned hereby and establish forthwith with the solemn intent and with the most probable cause of promoting all of very many games played with playing cards. Article I The executive power shalt be vested in a President of the Guild of Cardsmen. He shalt hold his office for a term of one year, and, together with the vice president, shalt be elected by a popular vote, wherein his vote (even for re-election) shall be deemed a supervote, equal in magnitude to five regular votes. The President shalt have the power to be dealer at all times requested when present. Under a circumstance in which he is not present, and especially if he has been assassinated, said power will defer to the Vice-President posthaste. The President shalt be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy, and of the militia, provided that they are called to service. He shall have the power to appoint Ambassadors and Judges of the Guild Supreme Court. Article II The Vice-President is trusted to guide the President on matters of domestic security and of necessary tributes to The Dark Lord Cthulu. In the event of any given vote becoming a tie, the Vice-President shalt be granted the authority of a double-vote.

Article III The treasury power of the Guild of Cardsmen shalt be vested in a head of the treasury department, the title of whom shalt be Treasurer. The Treasurer shalt be given the responsibility of monetary policy. He shant incur debts, nor shall he levy taxes in order to pay for sorts of amenities. The Treasurer may, at any time between sessions, regulate the value of the chips, provided that the chips are backed only by the trust of the Guild and of its President, and not by any other specie. Article IV All records and notes, excluding this one, shalt be entrusted with a Secretary-General, who will henceforth be referred to as the Secretary in order to save on syllables. The Secretary shalt keep any and all notes deemed important and/or necessary to the standing of the Guild. In the event of an emergency meeting or a code blue, the Secretary shalt be tasked with keeping an outline-record of utterances relevant to Guild legislation. Article V The Guild Charter shalt be amended only by a majority vote, and in such cases, supervotes merely retain the power equal to that of a standard vote. Article VI All card games, excluding strip poker, shalt be playable in normal circumstance. In such a case as one in which beautiful women of less than fair intellect arrive, strip poker can be played only if such play is expressly approved by the President.
