A moral value in the story In the novel The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope Hawkins, one moral value

is honour. The main character, Rudolf Rassendyll, puts his life in danger to save the King, who is kidnapped by Duke Michael. Although Rassendyll is also in love with Princess Flavia, he sacrifices his love for the sake of the country, Rurutania, and the King. This shows that he is a very honourable man. An event in the story that taught you an important lesson about life In the novel The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope Hawkins, the event that has taught me something important in life is the episode where Rassendyll fights bravely to save the King of Ruritania at Zenda castle. Rassendyll is willing to risk his life by sneaking into the castle to fight Duke Michaels men and rescue the King. He does all this even though he loves Princess Flavia. He could easily have taken the Kings place and married Flavia . This episode shows that Rassendyll is a truly honourable man. He has the strength of character to sacrifice what is personally important to him for the sake of others and for a country which is not even his own. He is indeed a good example of honourable man. A minor character who contributes to the plot The minor character that I have chosen in the Prisoner of Zenda is Colonel Sapt. He is loyal to the King Rudolf the Fifth. He is brave and loyal to the King. He is the one who came up with the idea to replace the King with Rudolf Rassendyll since Rassendyll looks like the King. He briefs Rassendyll on how to behave and what to do. When the King is missing, he decides that Rassendyll must remain as King, while they try to rescue the real King. He knows that Michael will not kill the King as long as Rudolf is alive. He is also able to sense theres a trap after a note from Antoinette. He stops Rassendyll from telling Flavia about the truth, as he is level-headed and not overcome with emotion. Lastly, he knows his priorities that though he felt sad for Rassendylls predicament as he says that the King comes first. The minor character is there to keep the King alive and also to keep Michael from killing the King and also he is able to keep the situation under control. One of the theme found in the novel One of the themes found in the novel The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope Hawkins is loyalty. Many instances of loyalty are found in the story. Colonel Sapt and Fritz von Tarlnheim show their loyalty when they are willing to put their own lives at risk to save their King and country. Princess Flavia also shows loyalty when she sacrifices her love for Rassendyll for the sake of Ruritania. Even Rassendyll is loyal to the King although he is not a citizen of Ruritania. He shows his loyalty by going to great lengths to save the King even though he could easily have taken his place and married his true love, Princess Flavia.
