AFTER FIFTY YEARS: THE NEW CAMP NOU

Hi mates! I’m Laia and today I want to talk about the remodeling of
the Camp Nou. eee. I think you know the old Camp Nou was created
in 1957, do you know? For this reason my presentation is called
“After fifty years: the new Camp Nou”.

And well, at first I’ve done a little summary. Here you have a glossary
with some words I think you can have problems, then mmm… the
main part of the presentation and at last the other projects for the
camp nou.

And well, the winner project is this he architect designer of the new
stadium is Norman Foster; did you know this architect before? Well is
famous.

The remodeled stadium will be seen as a single architectural emm

entity. The entire stadium building is contained within a clearly
defined volume and has an unified external appearance created by its
mosaic, as you can see here, enclosure. The works will start in 2009
and will be finished around 2011.

The design of the stadium façade will allow for the stadium to transform itself
between day and night and also between non-match days and match days.
The stadium’s volume is enveloped within a, within a mosaic veil of colored
tiles. The tiles are a mixture of colored polycarbonate panels and colored glass
panels. These give the stadium a distinctive outer skin which will make a visual
matrix of color, shade and, and, and reflections. It will have a capacity of one
hundred and six thousand people. Well, here you can see the exterior’s façade
of the stadium.

And well, as I’ve said, there were eight more projects to part of the
selected one. Now I want to show you these other buildings.

1- The, well, the first one is Ferrater's project. Aaa, It's made with a
lot of columns around the building. Here you have the budget of each
project and you can compare the prices.
2- The Japanese architects company SANAA designed this stadium.
All the building is covered with a metallical net.

3- The following project is from Martínez Lapeña-Torres. It's made

with 80 inclined columns around, around the building, that are
separated, without connection.

4- The MAP's project designed an exterior aaa asymmetric ring with

circulation ramps, as you can see in the picture.. In this project the
offices and the museum are included in the building.

5- The fifth one is a Domingo and Ferré project. And also, as you can
see is the most expensive. The youngest architects are the boldest
(do you remember what boldest means?) ; they designed a mobile
gyratory cover.

6- The Hergoz-De Muron's project is also interesting. It has a

transparent cover and a very good illumination.

7- The German project from GMP is one of the most elegant. The
facade is made with columns that do that the stadium has a crater's
form.

8- An the last one is the CRV’s project. The main feature of the CRV's
project is the geometrical form of the stadium. It hasn't been chosen
because it generates an important visual impact.

Well, my presentation is over here, if you have any question you can
do it now.
