Concerned Members of 18th Electric Power Survey Committee (EPSC) [as per enclosed list ] Subject: Electric Power Survey of Mega Cities (Vol.II) of 18th EPS Report regarding. Sir/Madam, As you may be aware 18th Electric Power Survey Committee (EPSC) during the 2 meeting held on 29th March, 2011 decided that Volume II of 18th EPS repoer would comprise Electric Power Survey of Mega Cities. It was also decided by EPSC that Volume II of EPS be completed by December, 2011. This matter was subsequently discussed during the 3rd meeting of 18th EPSC held on 27.06.2011. It was indicated that cities having population above 2 million would be covered for EPS of Mega Cities. The list of cities of identified for EPS is given at Annex.I. The proformae for providing the input data for EPS of Mega Cities is given at Annex.II (Proformae 1 to 10) & III

In addition to above, the following details/information would also be required to facilitate undertaking of the power survey of mega cities:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. details etc. Master Plan for development for 12th plan period and beyond (along with map(s) Plan for rapid transport system Plan for SEZ (Special Economic Zone) (if any ) Industrial Development Programme Availability & actual demand (in MW) on hourly basis (i.e. 8760 hours) for computing Load Duration Curve of city from 2006-07 to 2010-11. To enable CEA to take up the city survey, it is requested that a Nodal Officer be designated by concerned state TRANSCO who may co-ordinate with other concerned organizations entrusted with the responsibility of preparation and implementation of developmental plants of identified cities. The nodal officers would be required to coordinate with CEA and concerned State Organizations for furnishing of requisite data/information as per enclosed proformae. The name, address and other details of the designated nodal officer may kindly be communicated to CEA and action be initiated for collection of input data from concerned state departments/organizations.
