Safty precautions

Do not start your car being put a GILE GT-500SD into the cigarette lighter socket because the fuse could be burnt out. Operate the device while the car is stopped to avoid the car accident. Do not expose it to direct sunshine. Avoid using the device in strong magnetic field. Do not subject the device to severe impact or dropping from high position. Keep the device away from any liquids. We are not responsible for the damages caused by misusing and repairing the device or battery replacement. Pause GILE GT-500SD when you stop the car or disconnect portable hard disk to avoid damage to GILE GT-500SD or hard disk.

Getting Started -1
When you use GILE GT-500SD with portable audio devices,
GILE GT-500SD lets you listen to your portable audio devices such as MP3 player, CD player, portable DVD player, or mobile phone through any FM radio speaker.
1. GILE GT-500SD is turned on automatically once you put GILE GT-500SD into the car cigarette lighter socket. Turn on the radio and find a frequency that is not being used for broadcasting. Match the frequency of GILE GT-500SD to your radio using up/down button. Connect a portable audio device/music player to GILE GT-500SD with a stereo cable. Turn on the audio device and press the play button. Set the volume to a reasonable level to get the best signal quality. * Set the volume of audio device to medium level and control the delicate volume using radio volume. GILE GT-500SD should be connected with one sort of device out of SD card, USB memory and stereo cable. -1-

Getting Started -2
When you use GILE GT-500SD with memory devices,
GILE GT-500SD lets you listen to sound files like MP3, WMA in memory devices such as USB storage, SD card through any FM radio speaker.
1. GILE GT-500SD is turned on automatically once you put GILE GT-500SD into the car cigarette lighter socket. * Please select the mode between USB memory mode & SD card mode after the power is on. Turn on the radio and find a frequency that is not being used for broadcasting. Match the frequency of GILE GT-500SD to your radio using up/down button. Plug USB storage, SD card or MMC card into the GILE GT-500SD, Music files(MP3 & WMA file) stored in the memory devices are played automatically. GILE GT-500SD Supports only MP3 and WMA file, the other types of files and the files locked by DRM are not played. (format type: FAT32)

* Using USB storage, SD card and MMC card - Recognize up to 32GByte, 999files. - Support directory loading up to 5-level depth, Max 20 directories. In this case, GILE GT-500SD searches all directories in the storage. * Using another type of memory card (CF memory stick) - You need to connect special proper USB converter. * Using portable hard disk - When you use portable hard disk, you need to divide the disk into under 32Gbyte and format it with FAT32. GILE GT-500SD recognizes only the first drive under 32Gbyte so you need to store the files in the first drive. <Notice for using portable hard disk> When you use portable hard disk, you must connect extra power with cigarette liter jack to USB cable. We do not take the responsibility of any problem caused by not connecting extra power. 4. Set the volume with the volume setting function of GILE GT-500SD. -2-

[Setting the frequency]

Press MENU/RPT button. Select frequency with , buttons. Press MENU/RPT button once again.

[Volume setting]

1. Double click MENU/RPT button. 2. Set the volume with , button. (7 levels) 3. Press MENU/RPT button or button. * This feature is available only when connecting with memory devices.

[Selecting the track and playback]

Press button, when you want to play or pause. Move to previous or next track with clicking , buttons, while music is palying. Move to previous or next directory with pressing & holding , buttons, for about 2 seconds while music is playing -3-

[Changing display mode]
Press & hold button for about 2 seconds while music is playing, display mode is changed into 3 types as below.

[Repeat feature]

APress & hold MENU/RPT button for about 2 seconds while music is playing, repeat feature is activated. If you press & hold MENU/RPT button again for about 2 seconds, it is changed into normal mode.

[Storing frequencies]

Select the frequency you want with MENU button & , button. Press MEM button, then [-] is displayed on LCD as below. Press , button, and select the desired memory address. Press MEM button to set the frequency, you can store up to 7 frequencies.

[Use of stored frequencies]

Press MEM button. Press MEM button again repeatedly until the frequency is displayed you want. Stop pressing the button when the frequency is come out that you want. -4-

[Directory shift] -Search defined folder & play
* GILE GT-500SD has a feature that plays the music files only in defined folder, named MP3, or Soundfly. Make the folder named MP3 or Soundfly. Store music files in that folder, GILE GT-500SD plays the music files in that folder. - GILE GT-500SD supports up to 10 subdirectories per main directory and plays 50 music files per subdirectory, totally 500 files. - This feature makes loading speed shorten when you use a mass storage device and lets you put the files in order. * If you do not define folder, GILE GT-500SD plays all MP3&WMA files in all folders in sequence. or GileFM

Support up to 10 subdirectories

[RDS Display]

* This function is available only, if a memory device is connected to the USB port. - Press 3 briefly the MENU/RPT button. - Select the RDS display method with / buttons.: NOR: In the regular mode the display shows 8 characters. SCR: In scroll mode the display scrolls at intervals of 1 second. - Press MENU/RPT button again.

[RDS Interval]

* This function is available only, if a memory device is connected to the USB port. - Press 4 briefly the MENU/RPT button. - Select interval time with / buttons for normal RDS mode (2-6 seconds). - Press MENU/RPT button again. -5-

Tips for convenient use of GILE GT-500SD


[The way to lessen noise]
1. 2. 3. Do not expose it to direct sunshine. Do not put GILE GT-500SD near a magnet or the devices which makes strong electric power. Select the frequency that is not being used for broadcasting.

[Arranging memory folder]

- GILE GT-500SD has the feature that plays the music files only in defined folder. and moves to the other directories. - It lets you put the files in order and use conveniently. Make the folder, named MP3 or Gile. GileFM

Make the subfolders belonging main folders. Its better if you store about 20 files in one subfolder to find the files easily.

You can search the files you want fast and easily with directory shift feature even if you stored numerous files.

Please use the remote control after remove the protection sticker. * Press button and choose the mode between SD card & USB mode. [Selecting display mode] * Press DISPLAY button, display mode is changed into 3 types, frequency, remaining running time and equalizer. -7-

[Repeat ] * Press REPEAT button, the song you are listening is played repeatedly. Press repeat button again to stop the repeat function. [ Folder shift ] * Press button to move to previous folder, first song of the folder is played. * Press button to move to next folder, first song of the folder is played. [Volume control ] * Press VOL button, to volume up & down. [Move to previous / next song ] * Press button to move previous song. * Press button to move next song. [Fast forward & rewind ] * Press button to rewind as twice, quintuple and decuple. * Press button to play forward as twice, quintuple and decuple. [Setting frequency ] * Press FREQ / FREQ button, the frequency is moved to forward / back at 0.1MHz intervals. * Press long (about 2 seconds) FREQ / FREQ button, the frequency is moved to forward / back at 1MHz intervals. [Quick move to stored frequency ] * Press button to move directly to stored freq. among 7 stored frequencies. [Repetition of defined section ] * Press button to set a starting point of the repetition. * Press button to set a finishing point of the repetition, at the same time, the defined section is played. * Press button again to cancel the repetition. [ Bookmaking ] * You can use this feature in case the playing time is long such as lecture file & language file. Before you shut the device off, press button to memorize the point of time. When you turn the device on again, the device plays from the point you memorized.
