Formal wear
Formal wear (more often in the United States) or formal dress (in the United Kingdom) is a general fashion term used to describe clothing suitable for formal events. Western formal wear has had a pervasive influence on styles in many countries. Traditional 'rules' govern men's formal dress; these are strictly observed at socially conservative events such as royal weddings, formal dances and entertainment industry awards shows.

Casual wear
In the European tradition, casual is the dress code which emphasizes comfort and personal expression over presentation and uniformity. It includes a very wide variety of costume. Blue jeans and a T-shirt have been described as the "casual uniform". With the popularity of spectator sports in the late 20th century, A good deal of athletic gear has influenced casual wear. Clothing worn for manual labor also falls into casual wear.

Work wear/ smart casuals

Smart casual is a loosely defined dress code, casual, yet "smart" enough to conform to the particular standards of certain Western social groups. As "smart casual" is not formally defined, the lines between it and the other casual styles are often blurred. For example, some may use the term Smart casual to refer to Business casual.
