BKAS3113 Seminar in Accounting Information Systems In todays highly competitive business environment, many of the companies are able to achieve a greater success by expanding the size of the business. It is undeniable that Information Technology (IT) has turn up to be the important driving forces for todays business success, and everything has been automation. The implementation of IT has played a significant role and gives dramatic impacts to the companies.

It has been proven through a real scenario by one of the well-known companies in United States of America, Trident Marketing. The key issue in the article is that the company was tried to upgrade its phone system in order to expand the business and compete with other competitors as well. In order to meet the targeted objectives, there is a necessity to invest the new technology equipments (i.e. phone system). Unfortunately, an ignorant of testing on the phone system has been made and caused Trident had a slippery down profits which could bring some unfavorable effects on Tridents performance (e.g. financial and non-financial). It also will cause the shareholders and the potential stakeholders to loss their confidence towards the company with the leading bad conditions. Among the potential stakeholders are the customers such as AMD, DirectTV and etc. Indirectly, the risks could be risen up and diversified into a wider field resulted by the instability of the system. The degrees of severity can be reached in the higher level and give a birth of potential hidden threats as well, such as the issue of difficulty in acquisition and to retain the talented human capital in Trident Marketing.

As a brilliant Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Trident, Mr. Brown definitely has taken up some immediate actions and leaded the company to escape from the severe tragedy. The presence of Dimension Data system has saved the Trident from an undesired matter. The uniqueness and specialisation of itself is able to understand and meet the Tridents complex business requirements. Therefore, a blissful engagement between them has been made by deploying the Data Dimension system which has been invented by CISCO. Moreover, it was able to miminise the length of downtime. As a result, a great deal of profitable and savings amount also are associated with the implementation of the brand new entire system in Trident Marketing.

In conclusion, a transition from the failing system to a success system can make a huge gap from the loss point. Despite the organisation is adopting the desired or latest IT system, yet there will be more high intelligences and superb IT system exist in the market to strive to the road of excellence as the sky is limit.
