- This is my 6th year of teaching and my third year teaching kindergarten at Maryland. - I am a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I also completed my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Ohio Dominican University last summer. - I attended elementary school at Maryland (teaching in my former kindergarten classroom) and graduated from Bexley High School 10 years ago. - I have a younger brother, Joe who just graduated from Bexley High School and a younger sister Lindsey who I share a house with just outside of Bexley. - I love cheering on the buckeyes! - I also love animals! I have a dog named Bella and 2 cats named Milo and Peanut.

Daily Schedule
We begin each day by putting our things away,

turning in our folders,

answering the question of the day,

signing in for lunch,

doing our morning work,

and reading a good book.

The rest of our day


Morning meeting: community building, sing songs, read books, share with each other.

Poetry Binder
* 1-2 new snap words a week through a poem. * Every Friday your child will bring home their poetry binder. Please take a few minutes over the weekend to allow your child to read their poems with you. Please send the binder back to school with your child every Monday.

Lets Find Out!


Weekly magazine Teaches science and social studies concepts and helps us to practice our reading skills. Students will bring it home to share with you after exploring it in class

Report cards and conferences


Sent home to Kindergarten families twice a year
January and June.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are held in November. (20 mins each)

However, please feel free to contact me at any other time to discuss your questions or concerns.

Logistical reminders:
o

If taking your child home for lunch o pick them up in the lobby at 11:25 o Your child can return to the classroom at 12:25. o If you return to school prior to this time, please wait in the lobby until the bell rings and then escort your child to the classroom.

Dress code: flip flops and baseball caps are not allowed- must wear close toed shoes to school.
Nurse: sent to office with a nurse slip health office referral. Note will be sent home in your childs folder will also let you know if your child is frequently asking to go to the nurse. Lunch number: same number throughout entire Bexley schools experience. If you wish to add money: o Send a check or cash to the office o Snacks: kindergarteners are able to buy snacks- if you wish for this not to be an option for your child, please send in a note
