Business Rules: Are abstractions of the policies and practices of a business organization.

BRE: Business Rules Engine A software that manages business rules. It separates the business rules from the application code. It enables the enterprise to capture, manage and execute business policies and practices. It has no user interface. BRE Types: Inference An engine to perform dynamic business decision making. Ex. Should this customer be allowed a mortgage? Reactive An engine using declarative rules that are used only when underlying data changes. Ex. Alert a manager when certain items are out of stock. BPMS: Business Process Management System A software system which allows for the direct execution of business processes. It allows the full business process to be defined. It provides a process driven user interface. PegaRULES Process Commander: It provides an integrated development environment for Business Rules, Business Processes and User Interface. It also provides test and production environments. Comprehensive BPM suite intended to help businesses plan, build and manage process management solutions through their entire lifecycle.
