Christmas at

Coopers Square
Christmas at Coopers has children
at its heart and last Christmas
childrens TV favourite, Noddy paid
a visit to Coopers Square to launch
the centres Christmas Grotto. The
Centre held a switch-on event with
the Christmas lights transforming
the Centre into a magical winter
wonderland.
For those children less fortunate in
the region, Coopers Square hosts
the Dereks Tree campaign during
the festive period. Shoppers are
encouraged to buy an extra gift
at Coopers Square and take it to
the tree to be wrapped and sent
to those less fortunate children
within the region. Dereks Tree has
been running for over 15 years and
many children have had a merrier
Christmas due to the donations
made by Burton shoppers.
Burton College
Collaboration
The youth of Burton play an
important part within the retail
audience of the Scheme. In
appreciation of this Coopers Square
has forged a fantastic relationship
with the local college. In 2011 we
have seen a number of exhibitions of
artwork carried out by the talented
staff and students at Burton College.
These exhibitions have received
much praise by shoppers, retailers
and media alike and have been a
fantastic opportunity for students
to showcase proudly the creative
masterpieces they have worked
painstakingly hard on. The highlight
of the year was when the Centre
was transformed into a spectacular
End of Year Show from the Art
and Design Department at Burton
College. People turned out in droves,
which featured around 1,000 pieces
of work.
Fashion
Extravaganza
Forget London, Paris or Milan... Burton
proved it has the style X-Factor with
its Fashion Extravaganza, which took
place this September.
The event showcased the latest
retailer menswear, womenswear and
childrens wear for the upcoming
Autumn/Winter season and
entertained shoppers with a vibrant
and engaging dance and fashion
show. The event culminated with
a fabulous dance fashion show,
top stylist tips and advice on how
to create a capsule wardrobe.
Where the presenter discussed how
ve key fashion pieces can create
20 different outts and looks that will
see you through the Autumn/Winter
season.
Social Media
A targeted social media campaign
has been employed by the Centre
as part of its integrated marketing
approach. This has proved a
successful tool for effective
communication and enabled is to
both extend reach and improve
communications with the youth
market. The key target audience is
the primary and secondary target
audience social media users, Centre
retailers, local businesses and
related national publications and
businesses. Tactics that have been
executed across the campaign
include surveys, competitions, offers,
discounts and relevant fashion,
event and regional posts.
Latest initiatives from
Coopers Square
Coopers Square is at
the heart of the Burton
community and hosts
a series of events and
campaigns across the year.
These are aimed at raising
awareness of the Centre
and driving footfall, as
well as a way of initiating
and building valuable
stakeholder relationships
within the region.
