To be completed: 19th October 2011 Objectives of the assignment: For this assignment you will be concentrating on developing your research and recording skills. Research will provide unelaborated outline but correct summaries of the four research methods and techniques used in undertaking them. You will work from primary and secondary sources and include the history of both Sony and Microsofts adventure into the gaming console market. Lists of top game sales for each year and console development, for both Sony and Microsoft. Surveys undertaken in shops for the sales of consoles and games and professional opinion. Market research documents on personal preference of consoles and games using age, genre, time spent playing and how often, what is their favourite game and console and why and do they use online gaming. Thought pool both digital graphics for Interactive media and print-based media and research and list the file formats with a description of what software creates them and why they are used. Produce animation ideas for movement and layouts these, need to be designed on paper. Produce digital raster and vector designs for interactive product in appropriate software. Produce digital graphics for a CD jacket for an Interactive media product.

Assessment This will be a formative assessment. You will have other opportunities later in the year to address all the criteria for units 1 and 12.
