Nobody saw Keegan Bradley coming, except perhaps his father, Mark, a PGA Professional who elected to remain secluded in front of a television in a condominium in Jackson, Wyo., watching his son march into major championship lore. From his vantage point, with nobody around to add to his own tension, Mark Bradley saw his 25-year-old son cap an unforgettable, frenzied final hour of the 93rd PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club. Trailing by five strokes with just three holes to play, Keegan Bradley looked glazed when his chip shot ran across the 15th green and into the water, leading to a triple bogey. At that point, he reminded himself that his dream wasnt over, especially with a crucible of finishing holes left to play at Atlanta Athletic Clubs Highlands Course. I kept telling myself. Dont let that hole define this whole tournament, said Bradley. That
mental slap led to one of the most stunning turnarounds in major championship history. Bradley stepped up to make back-to-back birdies, including a 35-footer at 17 that caused the gallery to erupt. That massive putt accompanied a collapse by Jason Dufner, who appeared unflappable all weekend and had the experience of sharing fifth in the Championship a year ago. But Dufner hit his tee shot in the water on the 15th for the first of three straight bogeys that dropped him into a three-hole aggregate score playoff with the surging Bradley. Bradley hammered his drive on the 16th hole to open the playoff and noticed something in the fairway his divot from regulation play less than an hour earlier. Keegan told me later that he had seen his divot and it kind of calmed him, said Mark Bradley.

Everybody has struggled on them, Dufner said of the final four holes. Unfortunately, I had the lead and I struggled on them that was the deciding factor, and Keegan made a couple birdies there, and I made a couple bogeys. Dufner seemed to have the Wanamaker Trophy in his grasp as he stood on the 15th tee with a four-stroke lead over Anders Hansen, who was in the process of making bogey. Then he pushed his tee shot into the water right of the green. He rallied by making a 12-foot bogey putt and hit his drive in the middle of the 16th fairway. Moments later, Bradley hit his approach to eight feet at 16 and made birdie. Playing one group back, Dufner hit his approach into the right bunker, blasted out to 10 feet and made bogey, his lead now trimmed to two strokes. Dufner arrived on the 17th tee in time to watch Bradley rattle in a 35-foot birdie putt, which led to the latter pumping his fist as his caddie stood behind the hole holding the flag over his head with both arms. Dufner then hit to the middle of the green but ran his first putt 10 feet by the hole and three-putted for bogey, forcing a tie. Until his stunning Sunday, Bradley was best known as the nephew of World Golf Hall of Famer Pat Bradley. He won earlier this year at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in a playoff, again after the leader faded on the closing holes. Bradley said that he hopes his PGA Championship isnt his lone shining moment.

I had texted him on Saturday, By the way, its Hogans birthday today. He and I are big Hogan disciples, and I kind of think that played a little role in helping him. When Bradley made the putt, it was his first outright lead of the day. He added a two-putt par at 17 and then reached the 471-yard 18th hole that had played havoc with most of the field all week. Dufner applied the pressure by hitting his approach to within 20 feet. Bradley hit his 6-iron approach, and told his father later that he lost sight of the ball. The roar of the crowd by the 18th green, who saw the ball settle just inside of Dufners ball, quickly erased any lingering doubt. Though Dufner made his final putt, Bradley followed and had a short tap-in to close and become only the third player in

CHArl sCHWArtzel, 75tH Masters Champion
With his final putt from 20 feet curling into the side of the cup for a 6-under 66, the best finishing round at the Masters in 22 years, Charl Schwartzel closed out a two-stroke triumph over Adam Scott and Jason Day and earned the first berth into the 2011 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Schwartzel paved a path to victory that few first-time major champions have matched by becoming the first to capture the green jacket with four straight closing birdies. Schwartzel will be making his first appearance in Bermuda.

In the event of an injury or a dual winner in a major Championship, The PGA of America has developed a formula to complete the PGA Grand Slam of Golf field. The Defending Champion receives the initial invitation, then the Major Champions Points List is used to complete the field. This equation incorporates active past major winners and how they compete in this years major events. The point system awards 150 points for a 2nd place finish in a major event, 125 for 3rd, 110 for 4th, 100 for 5th, 90 for 6th, 85 for 7th, all the way thru 70th place, which receives 6 points.
