TELAIO MONOSCOCCA GENIUS

Il nuovo nato in casa Columbus, un telaio monoscocca realizzato attraverso la sovrapposizione di fibra di carbonio ad alto modulo, polimerizzata mediante la tecnica dellHigh Pressure Curing. Le dimensioni decisamente over del tubo obliquo e dello sterzo fanno subito trasparire le caratteristiche di estrema rigidit di questo telaio dal peso inferiore ai 950g. Le costolature laterali del tubo orizzontale contribuiscono alla rigidezza laterale di tutta la struttura aumentando la guidabilit della bicicletta anche nelle condizioni pi estreme. La scatola movimento oversize BB30 ed il posteriore orizzontale single plug a sezione alta, aumentano lefficienza della pedalata minimizzando le deformazioni laterali e sottolineando la caratteristica decisamente racing del telaio Genius. Il tubo sterzo da 1 1/2 nella parte inferiore, distribuisce meglio i carichi aumentando la durata del cuscinetto. La nuova forcella Genius monoscocca integra perfettamente le caratteristiche del telaio: estrema maneggevolezza e stabilit. La testa della forcella decisamente oversize si raccorda al tubo sterzo conico seguendo il pi possibile percorsi rettilinei, cambi di direzione improvvisi fanno lavorare la fibra di carbonio in maniera non ottimale. La zona testa/sterzo particolarmente rigida mentre i foderi hanno un coefficiente di rigidezza pi basso lungo lasse sterzo, in questo modo la forcella in grado di filtrare le vibrazioni ad alta frequenza e bassa intensit indotte dal terreno.

GENIUS MONOCOQUE FRAME

The new born in Columbus is a monocoque frame made with overlapped high modulus Carbon fibre, bonded in High Pressure Curing. The oversize dimensions of the down and head tubes give tremendous rigidity to this frame weighing less than 950g. The lateral ribs of the horizontal tube give lateral stiffness to the whole structure, improving bike handling in the toughest conditions. The oversize BB30 bottom bracket and the single plug high profile chain stays, increase the efficiency when pedalling and minimise lateral deformation, making Genius a true racing frame. The head tube measuring 1 in the lower section, increases the life time of the bearings as it evens the loads. The new Genius monocoque fork perfectly matches the frame: great handling and stability properties. The oversize fork head follows straight lines to fit the conic shaped steering tube, since sudden changes of direction or sharp angles, don't work with carbon. The head/head tube area is particularly stiff , whilst the blades are less stiff on the head tube axis, so that the fork dampens any kind of vibration.

GHOST Seatpost
REGGISELLA GHOST
Il nuovo reggisella Columbus, con stelo in fibra di carbonio, letteralmente scompare allinterno del tubo sella Columbus integrato, lasciando uscire la sola testina in alluminio che attraverso due viti consente una perfetta micro regolazione della sella. La tenuta del reggisella avviene attraverso un sistema ad espansione del gambo per mezzo di una vite in acciaio. La presenza sotto la testa di due distanziali in alluminio rimuovibili, consente una regolazione in altezza di 5 o 10mm. Lanello inferiore nasconde completamente la linea di telaio del tubo sella, garantendo una perfetta integrazione dellinsieme.

GHOST SEATPOST
The new Columbus seatpost with its Carbon pillar, literally disappears inside the Columbus integrated seat tube, leaving only the Aluminium head visible. The Aluminium head is equipped with 2 bolts to consent micro adjustments of the saddle, whilst a steel bolt expands the pillar so that the seat post is held in place. Two removable rings are placed under the head to allow an adjustment of 5-10mm in height. The lower ring completely covers the edge of the seat tube, obtaining a perfect integrated system

Ultima creazione del Columbus Carbon Lab, in T700 ed HM, ha delle caratteristiche fortemente innovative. La speciale forma dei foderi, grazie alla particolare curvatura progressiva, insieme allarretramento di 5mm del loro innesto con la testa forcella, conferiscono una straordinaria capacit di assorbimento delle micro vibrazioni indotte dal terreno. La rigidezza laterale stata migliorata grazie alla generosa sezione dei foderi nella parte alta ed alle dimensioni oversize della testa forcella. Il cannotto sterzo, anchesso totalmente in fibra di carbonio, ha un andamento conico che porta il diametro da 1 1/2 a 1 1/8 evitando cos improvvisi salti di sezione e mantenendo le fibre il pi rettilinee possibile in modo da evitare pericolose concentrazioni di sforzo e facendo lavorare la fibra di carbonio in modo pi ottimale. Genius la forcella che meglio si adatta ai telai in carbonio di ultima generazione per aumentare la rigidit complessiva del telaio e minimizzare i pesi. The latest creation from the Columbus Carbon Lab, this full monocoque T700 High Modulus carbon fibre fork is characterised by the use of several decidedly new technologies. The shape of the fork blades, given by the particular progressive curve and 5mm setback from the position in which they are connected to the fork, produce an extraordinary capacity to absorb the micro-vibrations of the terrain. Also: the lateral rigidity of the fork has been greatly improved thanks to the generous section of the blades and the upper oversized part of the crown. The steerer tube has a conical section which takes the upper 1 1/8 diameter to 1 in the bottom part without any noticeable jump in section, maintaining a completely linear lay-up of the fibres, thus avoiding dangerous concentrations of force and making the fibres work in the fashion best suited to the material. Novit assoluta Columbus MINIMAL, la nuova forcella monoscocca dalla linea essenziale e sobria, progettata per telai con sterzo tradizionale, in particolare per i telai realizzati con tubazioni in acciaio che per la loro essenzialit non si prestano ad essere assemblati con forcelle oversize. La forcella, realizzata attraverso la sovrapposizione di strati di fibra di carbonio di derivazione aerospaziale, disponibile nella versione con cannotto da 1 1/8 con rake 45 o 50mm. Il modello con cannotto da 1 disponibile con rake da 45mm. La curvatura progressiva dei foderi garantisce un ottimo smorzamento delle vibrazioni garantendo una elevata stabilit di guida anche nelle condizioni pi estreme.

MINIMAL FORK
The new monocoque fork of Columbus is called Minimal, with its essential and sober line, it has been developed for traditional head sets, particularly for steel frames, as their essential lines dont complement oversize forks. The fork, made with overlapped layers of Carbon fibre used in the aeronautical industry, is available in the 1 1/8 version with rake of 45 or 50mm; whilst the 1 version is available with 45mm rake. The progressive curve of the fork blades dampness vibrations and guarantees great handling stability also in extreme conditions.

Non poteva mancare nella gamma di forcelle in carbonio Columbus, un modello dal profilo aerodinamico, sviluppato per le biciclette da crono o triathlon. I foderi in fibra di carbonio presentano un profilo che riduce al minimo il drag della forcella grazie alla sezione dal profilo NACA, studiato per ottenere le migliori prestazioni alle alte velocit. I foderi presentano una curvatura nel bordo posteriore per aumentare il confort di guida. La testa forcella ed i forcellini appositamente progettati per seguire il profilo a sezione allungata sono realizzati in lega di alluminio come il cannotto del diametro di 1 1/8.

A model with an aerodynamic profile, designed for triathlon and time trial bicycles, could not be missed off the Columbus fork line. Thanks to the NACA profile section, developed to obtain the best performance at top speed, the special profile of the Carbon blades reduce to the minimum the drag of the fork. The fork blades also present a special curve in the rear section to increase handling comfort. The fork head, the drop outs, especially designed to match the stretched profile of the fork, and the 1 1/8 steerer, are in Aluminium alloy.
