The competitive advantage of Israeli over its opponents countries

Buoyed by false reports of Egyptian success, Jordan initiated offensive actions against Israel from the eastern portion of Jerusalem and from lands it occupied west of the Jordan river (the West Bank). Israeli forces responded by attacking Jordanian military positions. After a three days of fierce fighting, especially in and around Jerusalem, Israeli forces defeated the Jordanians and gained control of all of Jerusalem as well as the West Bank, the historical heartland of the Jewish people known to Israelis as Judea and Samaria. Following an air attack by the Syrians on the first day of the war, Israel dealt a shattering blow to the Syrian air force. Hostilities continued in the days that followed, and on fifth day of the war, the Israelis mustered enough forces to remove the Syrian threat from the Golan Heights. This difficult operation was completed the following day, bringing the active phase of the war to close.

In the final days prior to June-5th's breakout of War, United-States had boosted Israelimilitary-confidence. US promise to help Israel with UN, to obstruct Soviet-Military-Aid to ArabNations during war, and to provide military-assurance with its Mediterranean-fleet were final short-term causes for the pre-empted Israeli attack on the Arab-Nations in the Six-Day-War as Israel saw the inevitability of the war. In the time leading up to the war the Israelis sent out several large air patrols near the Gulf of Aqaba. This led the Egyptians to think the Israelis would attack in the southern vice northern Sinai and compelled them to move some of their front line fighters to the southern part of the Sinai. The actual attacks on the airfields were from an unexpected direction as well, The Israeli planesattacked from the west, instead of from the north or east. This caused an immense amount of confusion on the part of the Egyptians and even brought about speculation that British or American carrier aircraft had taken part in the raids They had practice driving vehicles through soft dunes in the Negev, and discovered that vehicles would get greater maneuverability in desert terrain if tires were partially deflated.
