Day 1

Focus Theme Topic Content Standards : : : : Listening and speaking World of Stories Baa Baa Black Sheep 1.1 By the end of the lesson, pupils will

be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. Learning Standards : 1.1.1 (g) Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance: oral blending and segmenting. 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs with guidance.

Objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to sing a song with guidance.

Activities

* Teacher puts up a picture of a black sheep. * Teacher asks a few questions based on the given picture. e.g. What animal is this? Do you love this animal? * Teacher sings the song Baa Baa Black Sheep while pupils listen. (Lyrics on power point presentation) * Pupils sing along with their teacher line by line. * Pupils sing along with actions. * Pupils sing the song while facing each other with the actions. * Teacher pronounces the words followed by the pupils. (word cards) * Teacher shows the word cards and guides the pupils in segmenting it.

Day 2
Focus Theme Topic : Reading : World of Stories : Baa, Baa Black Sheep : 2.1 Pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of letters to recognize words in linear and non-liner texts. 2.2 Pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of leters to recognize words in linear and non-linear texts. Learning Standard : 2.1.2 Able to recognize and articulate initial /b/ sound. 2.2.2 Able to read and understand phrases in linear and non-lonear texts. Educational Emphasis : Multiple Intelligenne Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i- recognize and articulate the phoneme /b/. ii- guess the three words to the three suitable pictures based on the rhymes. Teaching Aids : Power point, flash cards.

Content Standard

Teaching and Learning Strategy: Pupils are able to use their previous knowledge in identifying the letter by looking at the song chart.

Activities: 1. Teacher recite rhymes in power point. 2. Pupils will read after the teacher. 3. Teacher focus a few phoneme words with initial sound of /b/ Example: baa, black, bag, boy

Pupils pronounce the words correctly and then do the segmenting and blending activities guides by the teacher. 4. After the activity pupils spell the words together again. 5. Teacher shows some flash cards to the pupils and asks them to read them again. 6. Pupils do the same activities in pairs or in groups of six. 7. Closure: Recite the rhymes again with actions.

Day 3
Focus Theme Topic : Writing : World of Stories : Baa, Baa Black Sheep : 3.1 By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to form letters and words in neat legible print. Learning Standard : 3.1.2 Able to copy and write in neat legible print: a) small (lowercase) letters b) capital (uppercase) letters Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i- identify the capital letter B and small letter b correctly. ii- write the capital letter B and small letter b correctly and neatly. Teaching Aids : Song chart, marker pens, modeling clay, task sheet

Content Standard

Teaching and Learning Strategy: Pupils are able to use their previous knowledge in identifying the letter by looking at the song chart. Added-value : Entrepreneurship - Pupils are able to make the letter in group by using the modeling clay. Activities: 1- Teacher puts the song chart up and pupils sing along with the teacher. 2- Pupils identify the capital and small letter b by making a circle around the letters on the song chart. 3- Teacher shows the correct formation of the capital and small letter b. 4- Pupils write the capital and small letter b in the air and on their desks repeatedly. 5- Pupils make the capital and small letter b in group by using the modeling clay. 6- Pupils trace and copy the capital and small letter b in clear legible print on the task sheet.

Impact : By the end of the lesson, 35/40 pupils are able to write the letter b correctly.

Day 4
Focus Theme Topic Time Content Standard : Language Arts : World of Stories : Animals (Baa Baa Black Sheep) : 90 minutes : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :

4.1 - enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and songs, through performance. 4.3 - plan, organize and produce creative works for enjoyment. Learning standards 4.1.2 4.3.2 : able to sing the nursery rhymes with correct pronunciation and rhythm (a) able to take part with guidance in a performance based on nursery rhymes : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to make a mask and do actions according to the rhymes Activities: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Teacher pastes the nursery rhymes on the blackboard. Pupils have to sit in a group of 5. Pupils sing the songs that they have learnt previously (revise) Teacher distributes manila cards, crayons and scissors to pupils. Pupils have to make their own masks (sheep, boy, man) based on the nursery rhymes. Pupils put on the mask while singing the songs again
