BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES Date: 18/8/2011 NOTICE Summer Training Presentations of MBA / MBA IB Students

2011-12 1. Summer Training Presentations of III Sem. MBA and MBA IB students are scheduled on 29th August to 2nd September 2011, as mentioned in the Academic Calendar 201112. The detailed schedule of presentations is being notified separately. The st rd presentations scheduled on the 31 August will be held on the 3 September 2011, in case 31.8.2011 is declared a holiday on account of Eid. Summer training Presentation is a part of III Semester examinations and will be subject to evaluation. All the presenters must come in the formal uniform. All other students are advised to be present properly dressed in formals well in time. The presenters must ensure completion of initial preparations well before the starting time and be ready to have smooth continuity in presentations. The students should be in constant touch with their respective Mentors and finalize the Synopsis, Presentation and Report with their consultation. No two presentations should be identical even if the Company of Summer Training is the same. The students are required to submit the Synopsis (in not more than five A4 size pages, typed out in Times New Roman 12 point) latest by the 26th August 2011 duly forwarded by their respective mentors to the Office in hard copy and PPT in soft copy. The Synopsis should not be a copy of the Power Point presentation to be made. A total time of 25 minutes will be allowed to a student for making presentation with a break up of 20 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for answering questions. First signal will be given on completion of 15 minutes and the second one on completion of 20 minutes. Presentation should contain the following heads: a) b) c) d) Very brief Profile of Industry Brief company profile and Financial analysis Environmental Analysis Research Methodology i) Objectives iv) Data Collection and analysis Tools ii) Research Design v) Data Analysis and interpretation iii) Sampling e) Findings/Conclusions f) Recommendations and Suggestions h) Learning from Summer Training The major focus of the presentation should be on the Project undertaken and the entire presentation should be more analytical in nature.

The use of slides in the presentation should be limited to 15 (all slides to be numbered except the title slide) to show only important key points, charts, diagrams etc. (such as organization structure, financial analysis etc.) and these points should be explained verbally by the presenter facing the entire audience and not the display screen. Mere reading of the slides is not permitted. It is advised that the students should come well rehearsed and prepared to make crisp, effective and meaningful presentation in the allotted time. Training presentation will be evaluated on the following parameters: 1. Content 2. Depth of observations 3. Presentation 4. Questions Handling 5. Appearance

The attendance of all I and III Sem. students in the presentation is compulsory on all the days and will be counted. The students should be punctual and attend all the presentations as per the following arrangement : MBA I & II Sem. MBA IB I & II Sem. Third Semester students should be present on all the days in the panel allotted to them in the presentation schedule being notified separately. 10. The last date for submission of two copies of Summer Training Report is 15th November 2011. It should be submitted to the Office. The Training Report should be hard bound and the front page should carry BHU logo (not Faculty logo), Name of the organization, topic of the Project, Name of the student, Course, Session, enrolment no., Examination Roll no. etc. A sample cover page will be provided to you shortly. Students are advised to get the cover page printed on a sky-blue colour paper for uniformity.
