Square Numbers
Square array of dots, probably formed with pebbles, led the Greeks to numbers that were perfect squares- that is to numbers which, when expressed in a various of ways as the products of two numbers, would have two equal factors.
The most complete discussion of square numbers was given by a Greek, Nicomachus of Gerasa (c. A.D. 100) in Introdictio Arithmetica, the earliest extant manuscript, dating back to the tenth century. Nicomachus was not the original mathematician, but he did organize previous generations of mathematics in a clear and precise manner. The first 10 square numbers1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100 Each is a result of multiplying a number by itself1*1, 2*2, 3*3, 4*4, 5*5.. - which can also be written12 , 22 , 32 , 42 Interesting facts: If you add any 2 consecutive triangular numbers, you will always make a square number. The triangular numbers are formed, geometrically, like the square numbers
Triangular numbers can also be computed by the formula n(n + 1)/2, for n = 1, 2, 3, 4, ... As we see from the above figure, the first three triangular numbers are 1, 3, and 6. All square numbers end in either a 0, 1, 4, 5, 6 or a 9. Never a 2, 3, 7, or an 8.
If you subtract 2 consecutive square numbers, you will get an odd number- 3, 5, 7, 9

example1 - 18 * 99 step 1- put 2 zeros after 18 (as we have to mul it by 99, and 99 has 2 digits) it becomes 1800 now
step 2- now subtract 18 from 1800 ans is 1782 example2- 482*9999 step1- put 4 zeros after 482 (as we have to mul 482 by 9999, and 9999 has 4 digits) it becomes 4820000 step 2- subtract 482 from 4820000 ans is 4819518
find square of a number between 50 and 60 for example...... 56^2=3136 57^2=3249 58^2=3364 there is a 2 steps trick to get the ans 1) add the digit at the units place to 25 and write the sum 2) then calculate the square of units place digit and write it eg in case of 56^2 we have 25+6=31

Square a 2 Digit Number, for this example 37: > Look for the nearest 10 boundary > In this case up 3 from 37 to 40. > Since you went UP 3 to 40 go DOWN 3 from 37 to 34. > Now mentally multiply 34x40 > The way I do it is 34x10=340; > Double it mentally to 680 > Double it again mentally to 1360 > This 1360 is the FIRST interim answer. > 37 is "3" away from the 10 boundary 40. > Square this "3" distance from 10 boundary. > 3x3=9 which is the SECOND interim answer. > Add the two interim answers to get the final answer. > Answer: 1360 + 9 = 1369
LET THE NUMBER BE ABC SQ (ABC) is calculated like this STEP 1. Last digit = last digit of SQ(C) STEP 2. Second Last Digit = 2*B*C + any carryover from STEP 1. STEP 3. Third Last Digit 2*A*C+ Sq(B) + any carryover from STEP 2. STEP 4. Fourth last digit is 2*A*B + any carryover from STEP 3. STEP 5 . In the beginning of result will be Sq(A) + any carryover from Step 4.
EXAMPLE :
SQ (431) STEP 1. Last digit = last digit of SQ(1) =1 STEP 2. Second Last Digit = 2*3*1 + any carryover from STEP 1.= 6 STEP 3. Third Last Digit 2*4*1+ Sq(3) + any carryover from STEP 2.= 2*4*1 +9= 17. so 7 and 1 carryover STEP 4. Fourth last digit is 2*4*3 + any carryover (which is 1) . = 24+1=25. So 5 and carry over 2. STEP 5 . In the beginning of result will be Sq(4) + any carryover from Step 4. So 16+2 =18. So the result will be 185761.

Convert 1 to 9 = 100 Convert the numbers 1 to 9 which will results to "100", by inserting any of arithmetic operations (+ - * /) into the string of above numbers. And one more interesting thing is by keeping the numbers in the above order i.e. 123456789.. there are many solutions to above problem. if u have any plz write in the comment ...... One is: 1+2+3-4+5+6+78+9

like 13 tables s written by writing tables of 1 and 3 seperately next to each other.. 13 26 39 4 12 = 1 is carried to 4 = becomes 5 2 5 15 = 1 carried to 5 = 6 5 similarly 6 18 = 76 7 21 = 91 8 24 = 104 9 27 = 117 10 30 = 130 similarly it can be done for any number tables.

If the last digit of a number is 1 or 9, its square ends in 1 and the number formed by its preceding digits must be divisible by four. 3. If the last digit of a number is 2 or 8, its square ends in 4 and the preceding digit must be even. 4. If the last digit of a number is 3 or 7, its square ends in 9 and the number formed by its preceding digits must be divisible by four. 5. If the last digit of a number is 4 or 6, its square ends in 6 and the preceding digit must be odd. 6. If the last digit of a number is 5, its square ends in 25 and the preceding digits must be 0, 2, 06, or 56.
In base 16, a square number can end only with 0,1,4 or 9 and - in case 0, only 0,1,4,9 can precede it, - in case 4, only even numbers can precede it.
