Vote YES Fiorina For
State Senator
Boxer Kills #1 State Industry: Agriculture
With a new Governor, a new State Attorney General and a Central Valley Sheriff the Federal Govern-
ment may have met their match. These three individuals could turn the water back on to the Central
Valley and start the Agricultural Industry back on the road to recovery. Inside sources have indicated
that the State of California has had several legal opinions that offer the State of California the right to
exercise their sovereignty in the event of a crises. Following in the footsteps and by the example of
Sheriff Demeo in Nevada and Sheriff Arpaio in Arizona, the Governor of California, with the defense
of the State Attorney General and Sheriff, has the right to begin irrigation efforts immediately.
The Federal Government will have no authority and no legal enforcement available to prevent the
State from taking emergency action in defense of its food security and economic unemployment
crises. Nobody doubts the economic devastation to the Central Valley. The unemployment rate in agri-
culture communities ranges from 20 percent to 40 percent, while 250,000 acres of farmland are lying
fallow or dying. The region's agricultural output is expected to decline by between $1 billion and $3 billion this year over last, according to estimates
by agricultural and business groups. Whether the delta smelt is to blame lies at the heart of the debate. While some blame the fish for the severe re-
ductions in pumping from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, others argue that the region's three-year drought is primarily to blame. Some environ-
mentalists say the agriculture industry needs to adapt to the reduced water supply and live within its means. Scaling back the Central Valley
agriculture industry, also known as America's fruit basket, would have an economic impact that stretches beyond California. Americans undoubtedly
would find themselves buying more fruits, vegetables and nuts from foreign sources."It's certainly going to impact our food security. We know our
farmers here produce a product that's safe and healthy; we don't know what will happen if we're importing those products," he said. Others support-
ing the "Save Our Water" petition include the California Chamber of Commerce, which urged state and federal officials to protect agricultural water
supplies "from measures that will inflict serious economic and social harm on millions of Californians." In May, the foundation filed a lawsuit against the Fish and Wildlife Service on
behalf of several Central Valley farmers challenging the agency's authority to issue regulations on behalf of the delta smelt.

Vote NO on Brown and a Forced Obama Health Care Program.
Jerry Brown Killed the 210 Freeway Project to the I-15 Freeway Corridor, & forced (30) years of I-10 Freeway traffic jams for the High Desert Com-
muters. Sound familiar ? Its just been in the last few years that the 210 Freeway corridor opened and even more recently that it was completed
from the I-15 Freeway to the San Bernardino Highway Route 30. This in turn has placed the Devore Cut-Off and construction for the I-15 and I-215
interchange so far behind that it crushed the economic growth of the High Desert since the 1980s. This major impact to the outlying areas was
never more pronounced than during the 2003 to 2006 economic growth cycle, when it crushed job development by totally grid-locking the
North/South traffic from the Ontario basin to the High Desert. In some cases there were constant (2) hour commutes to travel (30) to (45) miles and
God forbid there was any kind of an accident, there was (30) miles of traffic at a dead stand still for (4) to (6) hours or more. Snow would close the
corridor completely. California cannot afford another failure to demonstrate a courage of vision regarding logistics and job growth. Brown has re-
fused to file any form of lawsuit against the Obama Health Care Plan along with the other (36) States in the Union. Brown has done nothing to de-
fend the State of California from the total collapse of the Agricultural Industry over the Water and Smelt Fish fiasco. He has refused to participate in
Tort Law Reform that would allow people who suffer frivolous law-suits from recovering their attorney fees as a matter of reciprocity & fairness. Tea
Party Members, you must mobilize everyone we know to Vote for a new Governor or history will repeat itself.
Conservatives Seen
Cleaning Up in 2012
Senate Races
Most polls indicate the GOP will barely miss out on regaining control of the Senate this
year. But watch out for 2012, Politico reports. Republicans will have opportunities
across the country to pick up more seats, and they face fewer seats of their own to de-
fend.
Its not simply the lopsided mathematics
with at least 21 Democratic seats on the
table in 2012, including two independents
who sit with the Democrats, compared with
10 Republicans. Its where the seats are lo-
cated, Politico reports
The locations are states where Democrats
are in trouble: Nebraska, North Dakota,
Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Virginia and New
Mexico.
So Republicans have nothing to worry about
if they dont take back the Senate in Tues-
days elections. Even National Republican
Senatorial Committee Chairman John
Cornyn (pictured) has said the move for Re-
publicans to take back the Senate repre-
sents a two-cycle process.

Elect Steve Cooley
CA State Attorney General
On June 8th 2010, Los Angeles
Countys three-term District Attor-
ney Steve Cooley, won the Repub-
lican nomination for the office of
California Attorney General. Coo-
ley won with 47% of the vote and
carried 47 out of Californias 58
counties.
A Southern California native and
the son of an FBI agent, Cooley is
a career prosecutor who joined the
Los Angeles District Attorneys of-
fice in 1973 as a law clerk. He
rose through the ranks and cur-
rently leads the largest public law
office in the nation, overseeing an
annual operating budget of more
than $330 million while directing over 1,000 attorneys, nearly 300 investigators as well as
hundreds of clerical and support personnel, who prosecute 60,000 felonies and 130,000
misdemeanors annually.
Transparency and trust in government is a top priority for Steve Cooley. As LA Countys
Chief Prosecutor, he created the Public Integrity Division to prosecute crimes committed
by politicians, government officials and dishonest lawyers. His office has received numer-
ous awards and commendations for their work to keep government open and accountable
to the media and public at large. As Attorney General, Cooley will take that same model to
the state level.
After the murder of Deputy Sheriff David March, Steve Cooley spent five years leading the
international effort to bring justice to the families of murder victims whose killers fled to
Mexico. He and his staff worked to change state, federal and international policy in order
to reverse a 2001 Mexican Supreme Court decision that barred the extradition of killers
facing life sentences in the United States. The Mexican Supreme Court ultimately over-
turned the previous decision and allowed criminals facing life terms to be extradited.
Scores of killers have been returned to the United States since and the killer of Deputy
March is serving life without the possibility of parole in a California prison.
Cooley has been a national leader in expanding the use of DNA and forensic science to
solve difficult and cold cases. With an overall conviction rate of over 95%, his office is a
leader in the state for Three Strikes and death penalty convictions as well as for prosecut-
ing gang-related crimes.
With Californias current unemployment crisis and the exodus of businesses from the
state, Cooley believes in making job creation a top priority by reducing unreasonably bur-
densome regulations while prosecuting those who prey on consumers, endanger the pub-
lics health and damage our environment.

HESPERIA CITY
COUNCIL CANDIDATE
Don Parkman
Don Parkman has been working hard to make a dif-
ference in this November election. His signs are out
and he is a small business owner that works hard to
achieve his goals. AAA Commercial Cleaning Com-
pany has earned a place in the community, as a
business that has a solid commitment to integrity and
service. Don believes that the Government Bidding
for Contract Work should be held on a level playing
field, with rules that apply to everyone equally in the
bidding process when it comes to FICO withholding,
wages, salaries, etc. His belief is that competition
should be fair and that Department Managers who
are responsible for issuing contracts are accountable
for insuring that the rules of engagement are upheld
before, during and after contracts are issued.
HESPERIA CITY
COUNCIL CANDIDATE
Bill Holland
Holland is retired from the San Bernardino
County Sheriffs Dept. His knowledge of law en-
forcement will be a large contribution toward un-
derstanding, improving and providing input to
one of the citys largest budget expenditures (ap-
proaching $10 million dollars annually). Holland
currently works for the Hesperia School District
as a School Police Officer. Additionally Holland is
a volunteer coach for the Oak Hills High School
& helped form and operate the Hesperia Junior
All American Youth Football Program from 1995
to 2005. Three seats are open in Hesperia, Hol-

Eric Swanson

School District
Eric Swanson is running for the Hesperia High
School District, His wife Rebecca is running for
the Hesperia Park Board. Eric made some very
important comments to the Tea Party Members
about the importance of the School Board elec-
tions. These elections determine the quality of
government you receive and in turn the quality of
schools by which people judge your community
when they purchase homes. How many times
have real estate agents had clients (with children)
walk into the office (or call on the phone) and the
first thing they ask is, How are the Schools.
Everything else is secondary. The better the
schools are the more people want to live in the
neighborhood and or community, therefore the
prices of home rise according to supply and de-
mand. Less homes in a good area with great
schools drives prices up. Consequently Eric
pointed out that it can drive prices down if the
school system is in poor shape, lower grade aver-
ages, over encumbered school bond debt etc.,
compounding the situation. Without public inter-
est in buying into a community due to poor
schools there is a certain economic blight suf-
fered and it can be far reaching in many ways.
Moral of the story is, be involved with the school
district elections, know the candidates and their
qualifications. There are complicated matters that
encompass the elected seat that must be filled.
Ultimately you get the government you deserve
based upon the overall community involvement.

Jim's Statement of Candidacy:
As a new member to this board, I will faithfully serve the
best interests of the LVUSD. My most urgent priority will
be higher quality education for our students without
adding new tax burdens to our community.
Unanimously appointed to President of Homestead Val-
ley Community Council for a second term in June of this
year, my abilities to think out of the box have vastly ex-
panded the organization's influence and community
service achievements, all while increasing our available
funds on hand. I will bring this proven track record of fis-
cal conservatism to LVUSD.
In 2007, The San Bernardino Sun newspaper featured
me in a front page story entitled Man Of The People,
touting my commitment to OPEN GOVERNMENT and
TRANSPARENCY. I recently organized a Brown Act and
California Public Records Act Workshop for elected offi-
cials and residents to promote Government By The
People, For the People principals. I do not condone

If elected to the LVUSD board, I will work tirelessly to

VICTOR VALLEY COLLEGE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES CANDIDATE
CHRIS MOLLENKAMP
NOV 2ND VOTE
Chris
MollenKamp
Citezen Editiorial
This statement is in no way intended to cast aspersions on the majority of the hard working and dedicated faculty at Victor Val-
ley College (VVC). In August 2010 I met with two officers of the Victor Valley College Faculty Association (VVCFA) which is the
full-time teachers union. At that time, I was informed by them that the VVCFA union leaders would never support any board
member who voted to lay off any employee regardless of reduction in state funding. VVC has three unions on campus and it
was quite clear that they were referring to all three since last year the State stopped the funding for a few special programs;
consequently, the board (including myself) voted to lay-off the employees who staffed them. Clearly, these union officials unreal-
istically expect the College Board to continue paying for jobs that the State no longer funds. Moreover, according to another
board candidate, who also refused to become beholden to these union leaders, he was told that they chose to support only
those candidates who promised to vote against any layoffs and who pledged a three percent (3%) pay raise to the union mem-
bership, regardless of the budget!
Recently, I received several phone calls from teachers in the union who were upset with the union leadership. Those teachers
stated that the local union officials chose the candidates without any membership input. Traditionally, the VVCFA Political Action
Committee (PAC) has provided their members (FT-faculty) with the opportunity to interview and democratically decide upon the
candidates to support. That process did not happen during this election! One teacher told me that the union officers basically
dictated to the teachers who they had to support. In fact, signs had been ordered for the candidates before the teachers were
even introduced to them and $9,000 from the parent union was earmarked for these candidates without ever getting any input
from their own union members, the teachers. These hard working faculty members who have maintained the stability and in-
tegrity of their profession throughout difficult transitions at VVC were left out of the very process that their dues support! It be-
came very evident that many teachers in the union were very upset; however, it also became apparent that they are extremely
afraid of retaliation from the union leaders if they were to oppose them openly.
There is a current Federal trend to put in place Card Check legislation that would give the union leaders across the country the
right to watch their rank-in-file and non-union employees vote. This public scrutiny of union members would create an intimida-
tion factor that would be so great that unions would never again lose an election. I have been privy to that intimated fear; I heard
it in the voices of the union members regarding this issue at the College.
I have always supported faculty whether or not they were union members. I believe that the faculty at V.V.C. is of the highest
caliber in the State. It is my intention to expose the backroom tactics of a couple union leaders. I do not believe that they repre-
sent the majority of the faculty.
Thanks, Dennis Henderson

Pay Attention
Fix Schools
Or
Pay The Price
I have been the point person for many years in standing up at the 10,000 NEA union
delegation meetings. The first year I stood up to speak, my 1,200 member CA caucus
(most liberal in the nation) booed me as I finished. It only made me work harder. I was
given the back-bone award in 2004 as well as the Medal of Freedom Award from the
U.S. Senate. You can rest assured I stand up to the union and will continue to do so. In
fact, they all know me by first and last name, they have heard me speak so often at the
microphones. My goal is to fix our schools. I have been a major
idea person for many years. Upon research, you may note that
many of my campaign ideas for education are borrowed to use for
their advancementa side-effect of running for office and the union
having all the money. I have come to know there is a glass ceiling
in the union, and our Only way to make important changes in our
schools is to have me as their chief administrator. The current
focus on reducing the drop-out rate is a direct result of my working
with the president of the NEA in 2004-6. I stand for accuracy in text-
books because I have personally observed revisionism in our text-
books during my 30+ years of teaching, to inaccurate and
one-sided ideological thinking in some areas. I favor developing
critical thinking, allowing students to research all sides of issues
and reach reasoned conclusions based on their research. The NEA
refused to pass a resolution including academic freedom such as
studying both sides of issues. I believe it is very important for our
freedoms to have an accurate education. We need more of a focus
on content subjects rather than the unions agenda. I have always wanted a Professional
organization rather than a union, and they have heard me say this many times. One item
to upgrade the system is to assure all teachers are high-quality teachers. One area of
improvement needed is classroom management for some teachers who are not using
good teaching practices. Look at: http://www.petersprocedures.com for a before and
after of one type of training to assist teachers to improve instruction. Unfortunately, there
are some teachers who rarely teach curriculum. Another possible consideration is to in-
tegrate the use of kindles, a small handheld device to upload textbooks. Many young
people wont or forget to bring textbooks to class, but they will likely bring their kindle,
since it will have all their textbooks on one device. A classroom set of textbooks would
assure the ability for students to use hardbound textbooks as well. Los Angeles Unified
School District spends from 40-60% of their budget on administration costs, when most
well-run school districts spend about 15-20% on administration. LAUSD is so large, its
staff would fill the Dodger Stadium. Some of their high schools have a 60-70% drop-out
rate. Californians spend $1.1 billion on crime related expenses annually for costs related
to drop-outs under age 18. They need more money in the classrooms and less spent on
administrative costs. We need more vocational education to assure our drop-outs will
stay in school and be prepared for a job right out of high school. I hope that helps you un-
derstand better about my plans to fix our schools. There are at least 100 items we
could easily list. Hopefully this will help you.
Thank you!

Michael Krouse had the crowd fired up again
with a fierce conservative attitude that went
straight toward the measure JJ budget and
Bond money. He was very concerned about
how and where the money went and how
much was left on account. Look for Michael
Krouse at the next Tea Party he is always
there for the lightening rounds during the in-

we need a conservative watch dog, Measure

Principles Over Party
Founded in the summer of 2009,
this non-partisan political educa-
tion/discussion/action group was
formed to provide a forum for citi-
zens to discuss their concerns about
preserving the American way of life.
Our nation's Founding Fathers me-
morialized basic principles of human
dignity and freedom which gave birth
to the most prosperous and re-
spected nation the World has ever
known. The Constitution of The
United States has always been the
basis for how we live free, are em-
powered by God to pursue happi-
ness, and are guaranteed freedom
of thought and expression.
The last 100 years have evi-
denced a diligent threat to these
Constitutional principles. Today we
have government (at all levels) that
has strayed from what our Founders
created. Today we have elected offi-
cials who do not represent us, but
rather behave as though they have
been anointed to lead us wherever
they think we should go. They treat
us like sheep! Corruption abounds!
We must take back our country! We
must unite in this goal! We must re-
turn to smaller government and true
accountability. We must assume re-
sponsibility for ourselves!

Vote Meg Whitman for Governor 2010
Meg Whitman, Republican nominee for Governor, today announced expanded leadership of her public safety
coalition, representing counties from around the state. They recognize that Whitman is the only candidate who
can protect public safety and keep communities safe.
Whitman is a strong supporter of the death penalty and "Three Strikes and You're Out Law", opposes early re-
lease of felons and believes local law enforcement budgets should be protected. Whitman also believes that
quality education is critical to stopping crime and she has a detailed plan to fix California's failing education
system.
"Meg Whitman is exactly the kind of leader California needs to get our economy back on track and keep our
communities and families safe," said Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims. "She has a detailed plan to create
jobs, hold government accountable and treat education like the priority it should be. And, if elected, Meg will
not owe anything to anyone except the voters who elected her. Her opponent can't say the same."

TIM DONNELLY - CANDIDATE
FOR 59TH ASSEMBLY DISTRICT
Tim Donnelly made a passionate speech that clearly indicated that
he was looking for like minded people that would not be pushed
around by career politicians. Further that as a representative of the
people and as a person assigned to the State Capital, there would
be a clear and loud voice for change. If this election cycle works
the way the Tea Party wants it to, the State Capital may be in for a
good old fashioned dose of Blunt Force Trauma.
Military Members Lined up and in-
formed the Tea party Members of all

California
State Senator
George Runner
Representing
17th Senate District
Taxpayer Advocate
for Americans
For Prosperity
Runner and his wife, former Assemblywoman Sharon Runner, are
the authors of Californias
Jessicas Law and honorary
co-chairs of Proposition 83-
Jessicas Law which was
passed by more than 70
percent of California voters
in November 2006. It cre-
ated some of the toughest
and most comprehensive
sex offender management
and control laws in the na-
tion. He was also the au-
thor of the well-known
Amber Alert in California,
which has resulted in over
two hundred successful re-
unions of parents with their
kids.
He was elected to the State
Senate in 2004 after serv-
ing six years in the Assem-
bly. As a thoughtful
conservative, Runners pri-
orities in the Legislature are to focus on improving economic pros-
perity, business growth, education excellence, and family
preservation for all Californians.
He serves as the vice chair of the Senate Committee on Environ-
mental Quality. He is a member of Senate Committee on Banking,
Finance and Insurance, Senate Committee on Appropriations,
Senate Committee on Revenue and Taxation, and Senate Commit-
tee on Human Services.
Recently, Runner was named Legislator of the Year by the:
California State Sheriffs Association
Crime Victims United
California Sexual Assault Investigators Association
Coalition of Chief Probations Officers
California Coalition of Directors of Environmental Health
California Community College Trustees
California Building Industry Association
He also received the Pursuit of Justice Award from the Association
of Deputy District Attorneys Los Angeles County.
Some of his other successful legislative measures in the State
Legislature include authoring:
Joint Strike Fighter tax credit which was designed to make Califor-
nia competitive with other states by allowing $250 million in tax
credits for wages and equipment used in the production of the
Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)
Proposition 11 in 1998, to allow flexibility for local governments to
enter into sales tax revenue sharing agreements;
Military families law that provides a permanent exemption from
non-resident tuition at all California public universities for active
military personnel and their families;
Landmark food safety legislation that improves and updates Cali-
fornias food safety code and is based on the best available food
safety science. This law was crafted to ensure that consumers are
protected when they eat at retail food facilities; and
The HOV Lane law, that allows High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on
State Route 14 available to single-occupancy drivers during non-
commuter hours.
Prior to his election to the State Senate, Runner served in the
State Assembly for three terms, from 1996 to 2002. During this
time of service, Runner was involved in developing and imple-
menting real solutions to the challenges Californians face and
served as Vice Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee.
George and Sharon are the first husband and wife in California
history to serve concurrently in the Legislature. They are proud
parents of their son, Micah, daughter-in-law, Sandy, daughter Re-
bekah, and three grandchildren
Tea Party Votes
to Replace All
California
Supreme Court
Justices
One of the most over-looked yet important votes you cast this No-
vember will be for the California Supreme Court Candidates. On No-
vember 2, 2010 you will be voting for (3) California Supreme Court
Justices; Either Yes to retain them or No to replace them.
The California Supreme Court has enormous power .and your vote is
vital in directing the future of very important decisions impacting every
Californian both now and for generations to come.
Here is a brief analysis for reasoning the replacement of the current
California Supreme Court. California needs a new conservative ap-
proach, judges who are Constitutionalists that will respect the Voters of
California and not practice their own version of Judicial Activism by
over-turning the will of the people. A State and its Citizens have a right
to preserve their way of life and belief systems as shown in matters that
are brought to a vote in the creation of new legislation. Judges do not
get to disregard the will of the people without risking the threat of being
thrown from office, recalled or surrounded by Citizens in protest of said
judicial activism.
Associate Justice Carlos Moreno has been on the court since 2001, ap-
pointed by former governor Gray Davis, his votes are very liberal. His
favorite Supreme Court Judge is liberal David Souter. Moreno was on
Obamas short list for replacing Souter. He was recommended by Sen-
ator Dianne Feinstein. Moreno not only voted in the 4-to-3 decision to
overturn traditional marriage with Proposition 23, he was the only NO
vote in the 6-to-1 decision that agreed the Proposition 8 vote was Con-
stitutional. In the past, he has voted against parental consent, against
religious rights and against business.
The next Judge to remove from the bench is Ming William Chin was ap-
pointed to the Supreme Court in 1996 by Governor Pete Wilson. Since
he has been on the bench, he has voted to over-turn parental consent,
consistent with his pro-abortion views. He shot down Governor Wilsons
attempt to privatize highway jobs. He did vote in favor of traditional
marriage and voted to uphold Californias anti-affirmative action law.
Despite a few good votes, he holds a liberal social stand and remains
inconsistent on business and property rights issues.
Another Judge to replace is Tani Cantil Sakauye. California Supreme
Court Chief Justice Ron George, who spearheaded denying Californi-
ans their choice in voting for traditional marriage, ran from this race in
light of his disregard for the voters. So a new candidate, Tani Cantil-
Sakauye is running for Chief Justice. Governor Schwarzenegger, Jerry
Brown and Ron George (a former justice) as a committee, approved the
appointment of Tani Cantil-Sakauye as our new California Supreme
Court Chief Justice.
She is 50 years old and an active member of the Japanese United
Methodist Church in Sacramento, a church with a liberal pastor. She is
considered a moderate Republican, leaning liberal on social issues.
The liberal Sandra Day OConner was her favorite Supreme Court
judge. When the California Supreme Court legalized same-sex mar-
riage, she performed same sex marriage. In cases brought before her,
she sided with the nurses union over legitimate cost concerns with re-
gard to school district positions.
She did uphold Californias prohibition against affirmative action and re-
ligious free speech. Her point of view is a mixed bag; she has not
demonstrated a dependable, consistent philosophical position.
YESON FIORINA
I started my business career as a secretary, earned an MBA and became the first woman to lead a Fortune 20 com-
pany, Hewlett-Packard. I understand the challenges people face and how to create jobs. America is in a crisis. Soaring
federal spending and the mushrooming federal deficit are killing jobs and stalling economic recovery. Unless reversed,
our children will be burdened with unsustainable future debt. We need real job creation not failed federal policy like the
stimulus. The problem is old-line politicians, who have been in office for decades, are not interested in solving prob-
lems. They are more concerned with partisanship, ideology and the next election. I'm a strong fiscal conservative who
will fight to reduce spending, slash the federal deficit and stop the expansion of federal control over the economy. We
are at war with terrorists who seek to destroy America's way of life. I chaired the External Advisory Board for the CIA. I'll
work for tougher U.S. policy in dealing with terrorists and oppose the administration's policy to try terrorists in civilian
court. If you're tired of partisan politics as usual then send a political outsider like me to Washington. I will work across
party lines for real reform. Together we can take back our government; make it listen and work for each of us. I'm Carly
Fiorina. I will take a fresh, new look at solving the problems facing America. We can actually make things better for a change. I'm working hard to earn your vote.

Congressman Buck McKeon on Out of Control Government Spending
Not since World War II have federal deficits grown at such a rapid pace. Under the Presidents pro-
posed budget this year, annual budget deficits are averaging just under $1 trillion for the next decade.
That level of spending is simply not sustainable for our country.
While the deficits forecasted are foreboding, even more alarming is the continued growth of our na-
tional debt if this spending continues. Currently our national debt is $13 trillion, which is a staggering
number. However, our national debt will almost double and reach $25.8 trillion by 2020 under the pro-
jected spending levels of the Administration.
Stop out of Control Government Spending Re-Elect Buck McKeon
Dr. Joe Heck has passionately served the residents of Nevada as a physician, Army Reservist, and community
volunteer.
Born in New York and raised in Pennsylvania, Joe moved to Southern Nevada in 1992. A 1984 graduate of The
Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Health Education, he received his Doctor of Osteopathy from the
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988, and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the
Albert Einstein Medical Center in 1992. In 1993 he received Board Certification in Emergency Medicine and in
2000 was issued a Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medical Services
Joe represented Senate District 5 in the Nevada Senate from 2004 through 2008, serving on the Natural Re-
sources, Human Resources and Education, and the Commerce and Labor Committees, and as Vice-Chair of the
Transportation and Homeland Security Committee. It was on these committees that Joe best utilized his experi-
ences in education, healthcare, and national security to serve the residents of Nevada. With an undergraduate de-
gree in health education, a faculty appointment at Touro University - Nevada, and prior faculty appointments at
Community College of Southern Nevada, University of Nevada School of Medicine, and the Uniformed Services
University he understands what it takes to provide a quality education for our children. Joe has worked as a healthcare provider, educator, and ad-
ministrator, giving him the tools necessary to diagnose and treat Nevada's ailing healthcare system. His military, federal government, and civilian ex-
periences have provided him with the knowledge and analytical skills required to protect our community, State, and country.

A true protector of the Nevada Constitution, Sharron has fought and won judi-
cial battles to protect Nevadan's constitutional rights. In 2003 while serving as
the Minority Whip in the Nevada State Assembly, Sharron challenged the Gov-
ernor's proposed massive $800 million tax hike. Supported by Nevada's consti-
tutional requirement that all tax increases be approved by a two-thirds super
majority, battle lines were drawn between the Republicans in the Assembly and
the Governor. Sharron and fourteen other courageous Republicans consis-
tently voted against the tax measure through the end of the regular session of
the legislature and on through two special sessions. The Governor then sued
the legislature in Angle v Guinn to force a decision by the Nevada Supreme
Court. The Court over-ruled the two-thirds requirement which meant the taxes
were to be imposed through a simple majority rather than by two-thirds vote.
Using her own funds, Sharron hired Dr. John Eastman of the Claremont Insti-
tute to defend the Nevada's Constitution against this injury. Angle and Eastman
took this case to Federal District Court in Nevada, which ended up referring the
case to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, then finally to the U.S. Supreme
Court.

McKeon Praises U.S. Troops
as President Obama Marks
Shift in Mission in Iraq
Washington, D.C.U.S. Rep. Howard P. Buck McKeon (R-
Calif.), the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Com-
mittee, today praised U.S. troops and diplomats for their efforts
to increase security and stability in Iraq. With the President set
to announce a shift in the U.S. mission in Iraq this evening,
McKeon also highlighted a Congressional resolution introduced
in late July to honor U.S. military and civilian personnel for the
success they have achieved in Iraq.
As the President should acknowledge tonight, the success of
the surge is undeniable, and our troops, along with their fami-
lies, deserve great credit for their courage and sacrifice. The
service and sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of U.S. forces
has been vital to ensure the protection of U.S. national interests
and the security of Iraq, said McKeon.
Our military and civilian personnel in Iraq have answered the
call of duty. We must ensure the remaining 50,000 U.S.
forcesand their civilian counterpartsadvising and assisting
the Government of Iraq and the Iraqi Security Forces have the
resources, authorities, support and protection they need to finish
the job.
The Administration and
Congress have a respon-
sibility to continue to fully
support post-combat Iraq
to ensure these hard-
fought gains translate into
a strategic gain in the re-
gion for the United
States, concluded McK-
eon.
In late July, McKeon
joined with Republican members of the House Armed Services
Committee to introduce H. Con. Res. 310, legislation which hon-
ors the service and sacrifice of members of the United States
Armed Forces who are serving in, or have served in, Operation
Iraqi Freedom.
The resolution also:
Extends the House of Representatives gratitude to all those
within the military and civilian departments and agencies of the
United States Government responsible for directing the imple-
mentation of the surge strategy and bringing security and sta-
bility to Iraq, including General David Petraeus and General
Raymond Odierno; Recognizes the importance and significance
of success in Iraq;
Commits the House of Representatives to working with Presi-
dent Obama and the Administration to build on the military suc-
cess in Iraq since the surge strategy was implemented; and
Recognizes that the President and the Administration have a re-
sponsibility to build a lasting strategic partnership between the
United States and Iraq.
Nancy Pelosi said Monday that 'we haven't really gotten the credit for what we
have done,' and the Speaker is right. However, it appears that her party will get
that credit on November 2, which
is why so many Democrats are
now jumping the liberal ship, at
least symbolically, to save their
seats. ... Mississippi Democrat
Gene Taylor ... [said] that he won't
support Mrs. Pelosi for Speaker,
another revelation considering his
vote for her in 2009. 'I'm very dis-
appointed in how she's veered to
the left,' Mr. Taylor said, as if Mrs.
Pelosi's ideological predispositions
were ever hidden. Mr. Taylor joins
a growing list of Democrats who
voted for Mrs. Pelosi in 2009 but
now profess to be shocked by her
left turn. They include Idaho's Walt
Minnick, Pennsylvania's Jason Alt-
mire, Alabama's Bobby Bright and
Texas's Chet Edwards, endangered incumbents all. Brett Carter, who is hoping
to replace Tennessee Democrat Barton Gordon, has gone even further and re-
quested that Mrs. Pelosi not even run again for the Speakership. 'Voters in my
district believe that you do not represent their values, and my opposition has
little to offer apart from critiquing your leadership,' Mr. Carter wrote in a Sep-
tember letter. ... Over in the Senate, the prize for distancing himself from his
party goes to West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin, who ran the famous TV ad
featuring him literally putting a bullet through the 'cap and trade bill.' Apparently
that wasn't politically far enough away from the Washington Democrats he
hopes to join, so Mr. Manchin declared on Fox News Sunday that he would
have voted against ObamaCare too. ... Remind us again why these folks are
running as Democrats?"

U.S. Companies Hoarding
Almost $1 Trillion Cash:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. companies are hoarding almost $1 tril-
lion in cash but are unlikely to spend on expanding their business
and hiring new employees due to continuing uncertainty about the
strength of the economy, Moody's Investors Service said on Tuesday.
As the economy stabilizes companies are also more likely to spend
on share repurchases and mergers and acquisitions, Moody's added.
Companies cut costs, reduced investment in plants and equipment
and downsized operations in order to boost cash holdings during the
recession. As the corporate bond market reopened many companies
also boosted cash levels by selling debt and refinancing near-term
debt maturities.
Nonfinancial U.S. companies are sitting on $943 billion of cash and
short-term investments, as of mid-year 2010, compared with $775 bil-
lion at the end of 2008, Moody's said. This would be enough to cover
a year's worth of capital spending and dividends and still have $121
billion left over, it said.
However, "we believe companies are looking for greater certainty
about the economy and signs of a permanent increase in sales be-
fore they let go of their cash hoards, which they suffered so much to
build," Moody's said in a report.
"Given low demand and capacity utilization within certain industries,
companies are wary of investing their cash in new capacity and
adding workers, thereby doing little to abbreviate the jobless recov-
ery," it added.
Around one quarter of the cash is held overseas and is unlikely to be
repatriated to the United States, Moody's said.
Meanwhile only 20 companies hold a large portion of corporate cash
balances, with $346 billion on their balance sheets, or 37 percent of
the total, Moody's said.
Cisco Systems (NasdaqGS:CSCO - News) has the largest cash bal-
ance, at $39.86 billion, while Microsoft (NasdaqGS:MSFT - News) is
second with $36.79 billion, Moody's said. Google (NasdaqGS:GOOG
- News) has the third-largest balance with $30.06 billion, followed by
Oracle (NasdaqGS:ORCL - News) with $23.64 billion and Ford Motor
Co (NYSE:F - News) at $21.89 billion.
Technology companies held the most cash as a sector, at $207 bil-
lion, followed by pharmaceuticals with $124 billion, energy at $105
billion, and consumer products with $101 billion, Moody's said.
